I grew up in the 1960's, when daytime TV was nothing but game shows and soap operas. So, from that perspective, there are far far fewer game shows than there are now.
The trend I dislike now with TV is that some of the shows I want to watch have exclusive deals with just one programming provider. So to see all my favorite shows I would have to have Cable, Satellite and a half dozen streaming services.
What I hate right now is the explosion in alleged "sports" programming. There are currently 14 College football games on my program guide, NONE of them from my state let alone my region. And when did Cornhole become a sport worthy of being televised?
Reminds me of when I first got Cable TV in 1987 and this fancy sports channel ESPN was carrying the International Tiddle Winks competition!
