Galveston prepping for arrival of Disney Cruise Lines

The hype is ramping up in the Houston area about the arrival of DCL in September.

They did say on this "Disney-owned" station that DCL will be in Galveston at least through 2014.

Being so close, are y'all cruising with DCL out of Galveston??? At first I thought it was great news. We live about 4 1/2 hours to port. It's definitely closer than Port Canaveral!!! But for us, the timing stinks. We already have other cruises and vacations booked for this year and next year. Wish that $$$$$ tree were growing faster.

Some of the repo cruises look are looking very interesting, especially the Panama Canal crossing. But we are in the same boat (no pun intended). To many other trips planned right now.

I really wish they would have offered shorter cruises like they did out of NYC. I also already had most of my vacations planned, but we could have snuck away for a long weekend.
