Galveston is becoming a major cruise departure port -- wish we had Disney!!!

Too cool, y'all!

Never thought about it before, but a Disney Cruise from Galveston would be awesome! I was born on Galveston; live in League City right now :)

Somebody please forward this to Disney (Michael Eisner??) maybe they will realize this would be a GREAT Market. (what's halfway in between Florida and Ca? Alot of people that don't like to fly or drive that far!!!) New profit center for Disney and wonderful for us!!

Texas has everything!!!!!! Lucky Texans!

I agree w/a port in Galveston!! We live in Nebraska and we DO NOT like to fly so we had to drive last month to Florida for our cruise. I'm seriously looking at Carnivals "Elation" for a cruise for us next summer. The drive to Galveston would be a lot easier on our family of 5. I didn't realize Princess' Grand would be going out of there too. Now I'll have to check on that one before I book the Elation!! Anyway, we're about 95% sure we'll be cruising from Galveston!!! :)

I vote for LA like tracie wallace. I really dont want the new ship, to go to galveston. Then it would just be sailing the caribbean and i want to go some were new on disney. If the new ship comes out west like the plan is, it would be able to sail from LA-mexico in winter and alaska from up north during summer. That would be perfectly ideal. I am guessing from what I heard from inside sorces that when they get a new ship, that what will happen.

Galveston is the place. We are confirmed DCL cruisers but living in Oklahoma I am awfully tempted to drive to Galveston for at least one cruise with someone else.

And I would NOT discount the fact that in 2005 - Disneyland turns 50 and since both the Wonder and Magic are able to go through the Panama Canal - that one of them would be repositioned there for that celebration.

Whereever it's going to be in April 2005 - we will be there for it!

/hijacks her thread back

I'm not trying to start a where-should-the-maybe-someday-third-ship-go debate.... I was just lamenting how there are so many other cruiseships right here, but not Disney, and how neat it would be if they did sail from down here. I could be like Shirley, and go meet DIS-ers every weekend! That would be very, very cool. :)

Hey Gina,
Just wanted to let you know I wasn't trying to hijack your thread or anything. Just giving my opinion. Galveston would be easier port to get to for us because we live in california. I just am hoping they build a new ship and it comes and sails to Alaska. That would be perfect.

Oh, I know, Matt... there have just been soooo many "3rd ship" threads, and I didn't want the debate started all over again...

Please just ignore me, I'm stressed out today and shouldn't have posted at all. I'm really sorry!

I think I'll go fire up my blender and make my own Malibu Colada now... :)

Yum, I would love a malibu colada right about now. To bad I am under age for drinking. You are so right on there being so many 3rd ship threads. We all have those day when we are stressed.
