(dunno if this belongs in Galaxy's Edge, or Rumors and News)

In Hollywood Studios, “Star Wars Land” was moved from its original location of Echo Lake and Indiana Jones Stunt Show (which is probably what led to the rumors several years back that Indy was going away) to Backlot Tours / Streets of America. (pictures in link below)

Also, it was originally going to be based on the original movies - specifically Tatooine, and not on “future Star Wars”.

This quote makes a lot of sense to me:
Many believe that Galaxy's Edge would have been far more effective if it used familiar stories and characters

Kathleen Kennedy continuing to ruin star wars. This is old news though, but thanks for the share.

Another reason it was changed was that Iger said "So we really should think about, do we want to build a Tatooine and build what all of the fifty-somethings remember Star Wars as, or do we want to build something else which is going to appeal to all the upcoming generations who are going to know the new stories.”

So true. While I prefer the original characters, our kids much prefer the new characters and know the locations.
They had the option to build the Stars Wars for the past or the future.
