Self Confidence. :) As your LOSING pounds have you found yourself GAINING self confidence? It's one of the biggest things I've noticed so far. I feel like I carry myself totally different with 39lbs gone! I don't feel like everyone is staring at me when I walk in a room (even though they probably never were I always felt that way before). I was so embarrased about my body before. Now I find myself shopping for clothes not that hide my body - but ones that SHOW it off! :teeth: I have a long way to go until I reach my goal but the strides I have made thus far are really keeping me going and the way I feel inside is just as good as the changes I'm seeing on the outside. Just wondering if other WISHers are experiencing the same things. :)

As I read your post, I thought to myself, hey kayeandjim00, get out of my head!!! That is exactly how I feel!!! I almost can't even describe how good I have been feeling lately. I haven't even bought any new clothes. I am just able to resurrect old outfits in the back of my closet that were always too tight to wear. I make sure my hair is fixed up nicely, my make up is just right (yep, I even wear red to work EVERYDAY!). Someone just commented to me yesterday how pretty my make up looks. I never even bothered with it before because I hated the way I looked.

Today, I was in the ladies room at work and as I hurried past the mirror I glanced up and for a split second, I didn't recognize the reflection. Yes, part of it was that I am beginning to look smaller, and I am taking better care of my personal appearance but part of it was something on the inside that is changing and you hit it right on the head. I am gaining more confidence in myself. I stand taller and walk prouder (thanks FIRM ab scuplt) and just feel so much better about the inner me as well as the butterfly coming out of the fat shell-like cocoon on the outside.

Like you, I have a long way to go to reach my goal. But I am enjoying the scenery on the way down! Thanks for posting what I was feeling!

I must say that I have gained a lot of self-confidence also. I am still way overweight, but am feeling better about myself everyday. I looked in the mirror yesterday and said in awe, "Ohhhhh, I see cheekbones!!!" And that, makes you feel good about yourself.

Lisa I can totally relate to your comments about your personal appearance - I am the same way now. Since I've begun losing weight I've gotten my hair highlighted something I've never done before and I love it! I've been taking extra time doing my makeup and hair every morning and now I'm one of the girls in the bathroom at work checking her hair and makeup a few times a day instead of rushing past the mirror so I don't have to see myself. Now I LIKE standing there and looking at the changes that I see. :teeth: I look at myself and can't believe that THIS time it's finally happening, I'm actually really losing weight and you can tell!! :hyper: I'm liking this girl in the mirror! ::yes::

I am so happy that you've had such a confidence boost! I bet you look great, and you should be proud of yourself for working sooooo hard and achieving such success! Show off that bod, baby!::yes::

I know I'm standing taller and moving freer!

ZerasPride, I just did the 'dig things out of the back of the closet' trick Thursday night. Next week I'll be wearing all 'new' (some cases literally, tags were still on!) outfits and three of them are RED! Plus, I hope no one at work passes out, I'll be wearing a skirt!

I think I have enough clothes to last through the next 30 lbs also. Some beautiful suits with the tags still on and shirts that actaully have to be tucked-in. I'll really enjoy wearing those, because when they get too big I'll be running around with a very limited wardrobe till I hit goal.

Just remember, every meal is a choice, but...

taking it one day at a time and not beating yourself up for a day gone by has really helped me! With regard to Clothes, my girlfriend who wears an 8 just told me she'd give me her pair of 10's for "desire wearing"...they are a $70 dollar pair of jeans, so I am really looking forward to getting into them!!!

i bounce too - you are doing great my sis...keeping on rocking! And of course I LOVE that your getting your closet more organized, as I am the "organizing goddess". OH, no, that was "Container Goddess"? Wasn't it? LOL

I totally agree! I'm not there yet, but last summer I lost 20 pounds right before I got pregnant and I was just like you! I bought clothes that were more fitted and showed off my body more. I spent more time on my skin care, hair care and makeup routines. It was just amazing! I can't wait to get to that point again!!

Keep up the great work Kaye! It's great to know that the real you is showing through and that you're proud! Pat yourself on the back for all your hard work. I'm catching up with only 24 pounds until my goal.
Good work to everyone!:wave2:
