I was trying to make my own design, but I have a hate/hate relationship with photoshop, I just can't figure out how to put one graphic on another.
I was trying to put a tinkerbell on this mickeyhead:

and then put "Dreams really do some true" on it (which is easy enough) but I just cannot figure out how to get one graphic onto another! I'm glad a use a different program for my photo editing, photoshop just frustrates me!

I have Photoshop Elements and not regular Photoshop but I would guess that the technique is the same.

The first thing you want to do to put something on top is to create a new layer over the existing one. In Elements there is an icon in the palate bin on the right that looks like a folded piece of paper. Click on that and you will see a new blank layer in your palette bin. With that layer highlighted (by clicking on it), drag your Tinkerbell to the new design. It should show up on the new layer. Then you can drag her around your design where you wish.

To do the text, simply create another new layer. Then with that layer highlighted, choose the "T" (text tool) from the icons on the left. (mine are on the left) You will see a cursor line show up on the layer and then type as you wish.

I hope this helps or at least gets you started.

It won't let me do it, I think the tink graphic I have is wrong. I can't find one that doesn't have a background? I don't know how you designers do it, I get so frustrated!

I have been having the same problem since I got the PSE program for Mother's Day. When I add a graphic, I get the white box behind it too. How do I get rid of it and just put the graphic. I just made a halloween shirt for myself but had to use a white box, and then placed the little white boxes on it so it would blend in. Very cheasy!! My daughter wants a figment shirt with 3 different graphics in a black mickey head, but again, they all have white squares. Thank you to anyone that can explain this to me and thank you from my daughter too.:confused3

I had to use the selection tool to outline tink and actually cut her away from the white (or you can find the graphic with no white background, but sometimes that's not possible). I'm actually not totally sure how I got it to work now!

Try using the background eraser tool! It works great, sometimes you have to clean up some artifacts, but that is what I do!
Good luck!
