GAD completed ?

UPDATED: 3/26/10 Well guess what wame in my e-mail box this morning- My Disney GAD tickets. I havent printed out the tickets yet. On the e-mail is says

Who:My Name Whereroject Linus When: April 28, 2010

Well when i signed up i didnt enter a date, so I wonder if these tickets can be used before April 28th.

I read awhile back someone said to make copies of the tickets just incase they get lost. Do i make a cop of the e-mail tickets or make a copy on the copier . Just want to know what woul be best. Thanks

Hello. My family and I did the project linus. Each one of us did a fleece blanket. We mailed out our blanklet and they were received March 23(i paid for delivery confirmation). I havent heard from the chapter manager that she got my package, which is ok because i got divery confirmation. My project due date was April 21st. I went on the Disney site and checked my account and it said,
"The date of the volunteer opportunity has passed. Verification that the volunteer has completed their activity may take up to 2 weeks. "

Does this mean she already turned on my info? Just curious to know if all is correct. Thanks

It means that Disney is waiting for the project coordinator to verify that you have completed your volunteer assignment.

Should i have gotten a response from the coordinator stating that its in the process? Do i just wait a few more days before emailing her to ask if the process has been started? Just wondering how others experience was.

We also did PL, and recd confirmation from our coordinator the day she received the blankets. We did ours though at the very beginning of January and I am sure they have gotten much busier since then.

If you are worried you can send the coordinator an email just to confirm she received the blankets (even though you already know this). Maybe then you'll hear she's busy and hasn't opened up everything yet, or yet and she will be confirming in a few days (when she's done, maybe does everything in big batches). Who knows, but it never hurts to ask as long as you are nice about it.

my friend's date isn't until April 5, and the coordinator told her that she couldn't confirm until that date. It may have even been the day after.

We also did PL and got ours in earlier than our date. We were also told they couldn't process it til after the set volunteer date.

I would think that the site states "Project date has passed" and its not April 21st, your original due date, yet that its in the process of verification. Ours said that for a week and then we got our passes, even though I know the coordinator verified our service the day after we did it. I'd give it a week or so (unless you need the passes sooner) and then email the coordinator to make sure she verified them.

we got ours confirmed the day they received,but they won't notify Disney till our date of service has passed,which is next month.

Mine said project date had passed and we weren't able to get credit. Seems that there was a glitch with the person entering the info and as soon as it said project date passed it was too late. It was all very odd and I just didn't really worry about it. I enjoyed making them but wouldn't have rushed like I did or sent nearly as many the first round.

This all happened right around the end date for the whole thing and so there was no way to go back in and reset it. Hopefully this isn't your case. Mine just seemed odd. It also said project date passed the day after I signed up.

Remember to that most Project Linus sites are small volunteer groups. Our was just a couple of little old ladies...nice as can be...sitting in a sewing store. When I dropped off my blankets they had about eight boxes and four large shopping bags full of blankets that had arrived that day. They said that was an average day for what they were getting in. And this was in the middle of nowhere. Give them time to get to everything.

I did PL and forgot to sign up on the GAD site. Sent in the blankets on the same day that GAD closed, and realized about a week later that I would never see the Disney benefits. We were so bummed! We had planned to donate our days to the boys and girls club.

We finished our blankets early. I just changed the date online. If you go to the hands on network site, you can do that. Then the person heading up that project will be able to input their info on the earlier date.

Since the opportunities are over I don't think you can change the dates anymore. I did this while there were opportunities available. I had to cancel my old date and choose a new one. Since there are no new dates, if you cancel your old one you will have taken yourself out of the program and you won't be eligible for the GAD tickets. BE CAREFUL!!!
