GAC or ECV?

For the first time in my life, I am considering getting one of these.

I have severe lower back pain radiating through my buttocks down my leg, at times all the way through my foot with tingling. I've had all sorts of tests and injections, and nothing seems to help.

My pain is at it's worst in the morning when I first get up, and when I am stressed. As happy as we all are to be in DW, it can be stressful, particularly while waiting in lines.

Walking generally is not a problem for me, but as soon as I stop and have to wait for something, the pain just shoots down my leg. I am taking neurontin (which the dr. says won't start to work for 6-8 weeks  ) and vicodin (which helps the pain somewhat, but at least I'm happy - as in I have a nice buzz :rotfl2: )

Given your experiences with both the GAC and an ECV, which do you think would be a better option for me? Like I said, walking really isn't the issue, or endurance - except when standing still.

The normal (and official) response from Guest Services for stamina and/or mobility problems is not for a GAC (since it is not intended to bypass lines) but that the person rent a wheelchair or ECV.

You would probably be better off renting an ECV from off-site as they are more maneuverable and also will be available to you at all times. Some of the resorts it is quite a distance from the rooms to the lobby area.

Even with the gac there will be some standing still at times. I would go for the ECV. Plus the Gac does not help with food lines and other lines outside of the parks. Like others have said rent the ECV from an off property company so that you can always have it with you.
