Do you need a GAC to use an ECV in line, wheelchair transfer, or for them to slow down a ride so that you can enter? What about using the wheelchair accessible boats on some rides? Or is GAC more for problems that aren't easily apparent?

The reason I ask is that we have a group of 8, and I'd love for us to be able to stay together, but I know that for the GAC waiting areas they only allow the person with the GAC plus 5 others. So if we can just use the ECV, or a wheelchair transfer to get all the way to the end of the line without splitting up, that'd be wonderful.

For the first questions no. My mom has gone in a wheelchair (knee surgery so she can walk just not all the time and walks slow/painfully at times) You don't need the GAC to enter the lines with it just having the chair is enough to let them know you need it. They have also slowed down some of the rides for her so she can get on since her balance isn't the best. This one you just have to ask for on the rides that can do it.

As for the waiting areas, when the waiting area is separate for the wheelchair you may still have to split. We did when we went as a group of 9 on the safari ride. Jungle cruise didn't make us split though as Mom realized that if she wanted to transfer it is easier to just get out and stand in the line
