We haven't been to WDW in a year and a half, but I know our GAC (for my son) was always issued as a length of stay pass and we got a new one each time we went. On Saturday when we finally returned to WDW the guest relations CM said he was issuing the GAC for 2 months since we are passholders. Is this something new?

Not sure about at WDW, but at DL, it has been this way for a while now (although I believe they do it for three months, can't remember for sure right now). It actually saves them tons of money as they don;t have to issue another one every time you go. At WDW that might not matter as much, but out here at DL where a person might go through 3-4 a day and with as many passholders as there are, it saves a lot.

No, they have done it before.
The assumption is that if you are annual Passholders, you are likely to come back more often.

This is very common, especially when the passholder is a Florida resident.

Hmmm, I had even asked in the Years past if I could have it for a longer period of time knowing we were returning the following month and was alway told no before. But know I know to ask for it saying I am a PH and FL res. thank you!

Just curious.......should I mention I am an annual passholder (which I am):scared:

Of course, now Al Lutz is reporting that they want to take away the long-term GACs at Disneyland, because too many passholders were using them, so they want to make it harder (in case of abuse). Just doesn't seem right to me.

I guess it doesnt hurt to mention it. We had exchanged our certificates for our AP's with same CM that was issuing the GAC, so he told me he was issuing it for 2 months. It was the first time that being an AP made a difference, so I think it just depends on the CM.

I dont mind either way. Yes it is nice we wont have to stop at GR again next month, but I understand wanting to stop abuse of the GACs. I am honestly just thankful they are available as it has made going to Disney a completely different experience with my son.
