Gabfest 2009 was a great success.

Started about 10:30 with PBF, ZTH and PBF's dd12 arriving. We hung out in the kitchen while I finished up with food preparation. MM2000, her dd and Po3 and her ds arrived about 11:20. We introduced the kids to each other and let them loose.

My wonderful guests brought gifts. Jennifer got us each a Making Memories Christmas Holiday stack:lovestruc and Holly gave each of us a beautiful scrapbook (mine was K & Co, PBF and ZTH got Disney ones) and this amazing embossed white cardstock stack and a pack of green cardstock for me:cloud9:. Oh and I got a great FROG resuable bag from MM2000. I am soooo spoiled.

Meanwhile we loaded up our plates with *pastries* (I remembered the "r" this time;)) from the Danish Pastry House and went in to sit by the fireplace in the front parlour. We talked, we laughed, we ate popcorn::and shivered because it was "wicked" cold! The wind was howling and our house is a 135 yrs old Victorian that is very well, ahem, "ventillated". Holly and Danica were snuggled under blankets, MM2000 and I were just right .

Then it was time for make your own Paninis. We had turkey, different cheeses, roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes and yummy potato salad, along with cheese and baguettes and grapes. We built them and DH grilled them. Kids had Holly's famous pizza strips (Max had about 5!). Holly told us her story of the grapes (which left us howling).

After lunch we all decided we would hit Joann's and Mikes so all of us went up to Randy's office (he was working at home today:surfweb:) and asked him to watch the 5 kids while we went out:rolleyes1...He was a good sport about it. We braved the wind chill and off we went.

While in the car we could hear church bells. Holly says,"wow, that sounds like it's coming from inside your car Rhond". "It does, doesn't it, but there really isn't a church nearby with church bells". ZTH asks, does anyone have a cellphone? I'll let Holly tell the rest;).

We got to Joann's and quickly located the clearance section. You could find Holly anywhere in the store because all you had to listen for was "5 bucks, come on, it's 5 bucks:rotfl:". Holly, Jennifer and I were laughing and talking about meeting for breakfast on Sundays at Panera, and this woman actually came up to us and asked us if she could be our friend and come to breakfast with us because we seemed like we were alot of fun (if she only knew:3dglasses). Jennifer gave the manager a run for her money when the manager insisted that there was no 50% of Christmas Scrap Supply signs up...Guess who won that battle;) Don't argue with "Jenny from the block". So after a very loooong check out process (I swear this is the worst Joann's around for this) we decided to hit Mike's and found some cute stuff there too.

We then drove to PBF's to show MM2000 and Po3 Pam and Danica's scrap space. Dropped ZTH off at work and came home to find DH making dinner for the kids (I guess I'll keep him after all). We snacked on some yummy chocolate and pretzel creations from Pam, potato chip and more cheese and baguette (did I mention we like cheese). Jennifer had left her car running to warm up before she realized that the kids were having dinner so she ran back outside to turn it to turn it off. Well...

We see the kids at the front door, and we are like, "Ok kids, get away from the door", they answer "we need to open the door". "No you don't it's freezing outside, get away from the door" - "But we need to open it" "No you don't..." Well turns out Jennifer was locked on and freezing to death out on the front porch in only her sweatshirt and was trying to get the kids to open the door for her :rotfl:Oops:flower3:

By then it was 7:30 and our dear friends needed to hit the road for their long drive home. The kids had an awsome day and all were fast friends. I think Max asked Holly about 10 times "Holly wouldn't it be nice if we came to your house:goodvibes".

Thank you all for a *wonderful* day. You really made my holiday vacation:hug:. I can't wait to do it again soon...You guys are the best imaginary friends a girl could have!

Rhonda

Thanks, TB, for a wonderful day - it was so much fun! (So much fun, we forgot to take any photos!) Great food, great friends, great stories, great shopping...and LOTS of laughing!

Thanks for everything, everyone! So...when are we doing it again???????

"Go get an adult!"

Okay, girls, thank you all for *so much fun.* I had a ball, but for some reason, I CANNOT get home from there without getting lost! We took a bit of a detour through Downtown Boston on the way home, that's always fun. We got home a bit later than anticipated, but it was all good.

Princess and Prince were absolutely EXHAUSTED. I barely saw her all day, and she had an absolute ball!

Thank you again. Let's do it again soon!

Max is right, it would be nice to go to Holly's!:thumbsup2

I am so glad you ladies had a good time. Next Laughfest Jan. 9th in CT!

Smartypants Danica says " does someone have a cell phone maybe?" DUH! it's my phone! OMG! It's mr. p03 calling to see if i'm ever coming home again. not right now mr.crocket. shopping with the girls! how could i not know it was my phone. we needed a college student ( a very pretty and smart one at that!;)) to figure out that it was my phone!:lmao:

Morgan, Grace and Sarah- you three are just the best little girls i know. all very polite and so sweet. i'm so glad that you all had fun and just fit together like you've know each other forever.

Let's talk about the ride home from there! HOLY COW! bubba told Jennifer not to get lost on the way home!;) lol! we took the scenic downtown boston route. looks beautiful at night i might add. ;) but jennie from the block somehow always gets us there and home in one piece and that's all that matters to me! thank you jennie for driving bubba and i there and back. i don't care if we take the jersey or the mass pike to get home as long as i get home. ;) you're the best, girlfriend!

you are all welcome for all your goodies. glad max likes my pizza! i like it too!

Work was so quiet, they didn't even need me!!!! Oh well.

It flew by so quickly too (maybe because I was only there for less than 3 hours?) :rotfl:

But before work, I had a great day with all of you! Thank you so much for coming to Rhonda's house and braving the cold to go shopping.

Thank you both also for the great surprises you gave us - I'm sorry you only got snowflakes in return.

By the way - if those slippers go on sale more - what sizes are you two? :rolleyes1

I'm really going to have to persuade DH to move so I can come...... mind you, I don't do driving on the wrong side of the road, so if you could just sort that out....:rolleyes1:lmao:

It sounds like such a fun day. I sure wish I lived closer so I could join y'all. I'm going to have to find a way to convince DH we need a vacation up that way!!!

I'll type more from work, but I really really had a great time. Morgan woke up talking about how much she and Sara "have in common."

I'm glad you enjoyed your tour of Downtown Boston. I was getting a bit anxious (could you tell) that we would never get out of Boston. "Look kids, Big Ben! I can't get left!!"

are ya kidding me? i love my snowflake. thank you so much!

and i'll take an 8 if they go on sale. let me know and i'll send you some $.

and speaking of that- miss jennifer i owe you some $!
how much? and add my tape to my total!

Have you made that order yet? And if not - where are you making it? I might have a favor to ask of you.... I'm looking at 1/4" adapters for the ATG700. I'd pay you back if wherever you are ordering from has them and you could get one for me.

Sorry Danica, I placed the order on Monday and they are coming in today! If you don't get an adapter before the next time we order (we only got 15 rolls each, it may not last long :lmao: ), I'll definitely toss one on for you.

I'm a 9-10, unless they come bigger, I'm a 9(ish), but more of a wide. I will send you a check for them, or I can paypal you. Thanks for the snowflakes, DH was happy with his green one, and I love the pink. I so love the WallFlower too, I think I'll put the Santa away and put that one in the bathroom for night time.

I was really sweating it out, trying to figure out how to get us away from the City and closer to home! I'm telling you, I can get you anywhere in Boston on foot, it's driving the roads that make me lose my mind ;)

I had a hard time shutting down last night and sooooo didn't want to get up this morning. I really really should have called in blind. :3dglasses

But you did get us home safely and that's all that matters.
We needed to take a couple of jennifers and one or two hollys
and back on the pike it was. No worries!!
And I too wanted to call in but I have not been here since
last Thursday. So I HAD to work today.

I'm fairly certain that a GPS is going to be on my list of must haves in the very near future, especially if we continue to go to Rhonda's! I just can't get us home without getting lost! (We would have been fine, if I hadn't missed that stupid exit).

i think it might have been my fault. i was chattn'!:rolleyes1

either we pitch in and get a gps or we take pam home with us and she stays with one of us until our next visit up there!:lmao:
