The Unofficial Guide to DL 2008 by Bob Sehlinger is much improved over the 2007 version, and it's 90 pages longer.
It lists Disboards.com as one of the Best Discussion Boards.
The dining section is greatly improved, with restaurant reviews and ratings. And the hotel section now includes more information about the three DLR hotels, as well as more information about the non-Disney hotels.
The new 2008 edition now includes a list of the "Walking Times to the Theme-park Entrances" for the 27 hotels that the author considers to be in walking distance. It lists "average" times in minutes. The closest DLR hotel was the GCH at 4:00. The closest non-Disney hotel was the Tropicana Inn & Suites at 6:15. And it listed the walking times to the HoJo and CCI at 10:15 and 10:30 respectively; so the times seem about right. The hotel with the longest walk time, that made the list, was the Sheraton Park Hotel on Harbor Blvd., at 17:00 minutes.
IMO, the guide is geared too much to the "Ride Warrior," and the information about the Character Meals needs to be improved. And the DL map still doesn't list "Aladdin's Oasis" in Adventureland. But for $11 this guide provides plenty of good and reliable information for the newbie.

The DIS is the real best-kept secret. Speaking of secrets, I'm a travel junkie & over-compulsive planner
, I savour a good guidebook.
found one on eBay! can't believe someone would sell their copy already?
