I called MS this morning to see how many points I would need for the family (2 adults, 2 kids) to stay at Tanque Verde Ranch during June. Here's what I learned:
They generally have 3 room types:
Queen + Queen hotel-ish sleeps 4
King br + small sitting room sleeps 4
"Villa type" sleeps 6
The ranch is 7 hours from the Grand Canyon. It seems quite upscale, however rooms don't have phones or TVs. As reported in the Member Guidebook and on the member sebsite, meals and activities are included with lodging.
I priced the Q+Q room for the 4 of us. We start with 61 points per night for double occupancy. Each additional guest in the room costs 18 points per night. For us that's 61 + 18 + 18 = 97 points per night. Yikes!
At that rate, we could afford 3 nights without borrowing. Can anyone who's been there tell me if 3 nights is worthwhile? Would we be able to see/do enough? Ideally, a Tanque Verde stay would be part of a larger "American West" vacation for us, so a long stay wouldn't fit the schedule. Yet, I don't want to miss anything, either.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Kelley
