Wow. The fact that it's being called an "invasion" by the organizers is giving vibes of a group encouraging an aggressive attitude. Can't help but think there's a real chance of potential conflict with other guests here. Really wish we could leave politics out of the park. What's Disney's stance on political clothing, etc.?

Honestly this would encourage me to choose another day, no matter what side I was on. Drama is the last thing I need at DL. I would absolutely say the same thing if this was coming from the other side, particularly if it was worded in this way.

I did a quick search and also asked AI to see if there was a history of any other groups using the term "invasion" re: Disneyland. Only thing I could find was from 1970, when a group of "Yippies" staged an "International Pow-Wow" and said they planned to "invade" the park. According to ChatGPT, this is one of only two days in history that Disneyland closed early due to a disruption, the other being the assassination of President Kennedy.

Hopefully it won't come to this and everyone will behave, but given our political climate these days I have serious doubts. No thanks.

Really wish we could leave politics out of the park. What's Disney's stance on political clothing, etc.?

Earlier this summer, Disney clarified that political attire is acceptable as long as it’s not offensive (but the act of wearing such such is not offensive by itself).

I see a lot of politics at WDW and DCL but not so much at DLR. Recently we did a cruise with DCL. There was a family of mom, dad and son; collectively they weighed over a ton (not an exaggeration, the son - who must’ve been in his 20s - was so obese he had oxygen) and rode around in oversized scooters decked out for their favorite politician. The back had an an oversized t-shirt plastered to it that read “… won, get over it.” Lots of cruises felt it was over the top, but Disney said it did not cross any boundaries.

I would expect it in WDW which is why I choose not to go there (or anywhere in Florida for that matter). Why choose our park? I suspect to "make trouble". Or stir the pot...they know they'll get reaction from CAfolks, that's my thinking. So glad this won't occur on any of my dates...I have to work then to pay for my MK.

My next planned trip (after December and January) won't be until Star Wars/Dapper Day in April.

I agree on keeping politics out of the parks but you know, we have Gay Days and Pride Night and Dapper Days so I suppose it's only fair for those folks to get together too. I'm just glad they are giving people fair warning and those who want to avoid it, can.

I know there are pockets of conservatives in CA but it just doesn't strike me as a place the MAGA folks would choose to fly their flag, so to speak.

I think ChatGPT got confused between different meanings of "disruption." I don't recall any disruptive behavior by DL guests after word of the president's assassination got out. I can't imagine why there would have been. There was, of course, a national "disruption" in normal activities, and I think DL closed because of that.

The "GayDaysAnaheimInfo" site is not quite accurate; the linked Disneyland site clarifies that, as the plural "days" implies, it isn't just one day. It's Feb 27, 2026 through March 1, 2026. But yeah, that includes Feb. 28th.

I think that's a reasonable theory. Given that the Mini Gay Days are authorized by Disney, I imagine that DLR management and security won't take well to any other group trying to interfere with those guests' enjoyment of the parks.

So 805 Patriots -- 805 is a California area code that covers "most or all of the counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and the southernmost portions of Monterey County." So these are locals, relatively speaking. Their website seems to exist mainly to sell merch, including the t-shirt that's listed as "Dress Code." They have about 32K followers on Instagram. Generally speaking, organizations should be able to organize Disney trips if they want to. But the aggressive tone of the email is really off for for just a fun trip to DL.

In addition to the "invasion" mentioned in the email, the group's insta calls the event a "Disney takeover" and says, "It's official, we're going to trigger liberals at Disneyland." They took a poll asking which park they should chose, and Disney won. About 1100 people replied. For what it's worth, it doesn't look like the date was purposely chosen to match up with Mini Gay Days. The poll they took indicates it was chosen because it was the cheapest time to go.

Sorry, but anyone who plans to go to Disneyland with the express intent of "invading" and triggering people can kick rocks. They have a right to their political opinions, but did it not occur to this group that just about everyone in the park (liberals as well as other conservatives who aren't there to stir up trouble) just wants to enjoy their vacation without the threat of confrontations? But hey, great way to set the organization up for a lawsuit or worse if there's any violence; they've put their intent in writing.

The photo @joseph821 posted is evidently being widely circulated; one of my daughters just sent me the same photo a few minutes ago. I'm guessing (hoping) Disney won't actually let people into the park wearing these "Patriots in the Park" t-shirts since they've publicly stated their aim to cause a disruption.

I've got news for them - there are patriots in the park every day. They work there. They are guests there. They might watch the flag retreat or enjoy some time with Mr. Lincoln. They might just love Disney. You don't have to be aligned with a particular side to be a patriot, nor do you have to wear it on your sleeve. It's unfortunate to see that people feel the need to stage something like this to make some kind of point about how "patriotic" they supposedly. The real patriots don't have to advertise it.

Exactly my thoughts when I saw this photo on Reddit. Weren't these people boycotting the "woke, evil and dangerous" Disney company? lol

This is just a grift to profit off of ignorant people.

I don't mind it for stuff that is done in a fun way and isn't exclusionary toward other groups. These "patriots" are implying that other-minded people are not such, and can't be such. They are, and they are around all the time.
