Hey All,

Just got back from my trip and it was awesome. I'm working on a trip report and dining report and will post when it's done.

But I just wanted to pass on some info I got checking in. You know when you book a package with disney you get that clear plastic envelope with luggage tags/vouchers/final confirmation. Well I never got it this time I was a little concerned. Well as we checked in, the lady went to the back pulled out a pile of these envelopes, looked for ours and handed it to us.

We asked why, and apparently because these envelopes have the tendency to get stuck at the border, for Canadians booking without a travel agent they don't mail them, and instead send them to your resort, and you get them as your checking in.

So just an FYI, if you booked with Disney and don't get your envelope, you will get it when you check in.

Later!

THANK YOU so much for posting this. Last year we received one, and yet with only 21 days before departure I still hadn't received it. I have the magical express tickets but that's it. I thought maybe it had gotten lost. Thanks for letting us know that they'll be there when we check in. I look forward to your TR!

UGGH. Do they EVER get stuck at the border.

Actually, you can request this option when booking through a travel agent as well. The only thing that I don't like about this option is you don't get the nice Disney luggage tags before departure.

Why these documents have issues at our border is beyond me. :confused3

Hi

I leave tomorrow to drive down and CAA never rec'd my stuff either. So they made up a package with my confirmations, a couple of books, 2 packs of suntan lotions and a few other goodies. Supposedly mine was mailed out from Disney on Nov 14th but never arrived. CAA says the rest of the stuff will be waiting for me at checkin.

Hi there,

After reading about the many posts from folks who never receive their DME vouchers and luggage tags in time, I was pleasantly surprised to receive mine last week. Perhaps it's because I booked through one of the Disney-approved travel agents. However, there was an error on my voucher and luggage tags, as the DME had me arriving a day after my actual arrival (Jan 15). My hotel confirmation is correct, though, and the travel agent informed me that this has happened a couple of times already where DME had the wrong arrival date on the tags and voucher. Just a reminder to those who receive theirs in the mail that they should check the dates carefully well in advance.

I booked my own package with Walt Disney Travel the past two Septembers. I received the documents and clear plastic envelope both times. This last trip, it only arrived about 10 days ahead of time, but it did show up in the mailbox. :)

Actually, it's just plain old luck. Some get held up at the border longer than others. Glad to hear that they arrived well in advance for you -aren't the luggage tags ADORABLE??? :goodvibes

To tell you the truth; it doesn't matter.

A little known fact is that as long as you are staying on WDW property, you can board use the DME bus. You don't even need the vouchers in hand in order to do so. :)

I thought this was changed when the towncar services started complaining that Disney was "stealing" their customers :confused3

I love the luggage tags, and after seeing them, have a whole new level of understanding about the origins of lime green as the official DISer colour. I can hardly wait to use them.

I received my clear plastic pouch with luggage tags/docs for my trip tomorrow. It came about 2 weeks ago.

Nope, not at all. As long as you you have a reservation on WDW property (minus Swalfin, Shades of Green and Downtown Disney Resorts), you can use DME - voucher or no voucher. :)

:bitelip:

I booked my trip on December 2 and am waiting for my package from my CAA agent. Will let you all know if I get mine before my trip in March. They can't blame the mail on this one, I'am giving them lots of time to get it up here. :p :p

We are travelling to WDW on Jan 3, 2007. Also booked thru CAA (Toronto) and we paid for the full amount at the time of booking (last week of October). Our TA said that the package should be mailed to CAA by mid-Dec, let's see....

Last week I called CRO but they said they cannot pull out my file since we are booked with AAA Vacations.

FYI -WDW docs getting here on time has nothing to do with when you paid for the package in full.

Disney doesn't send them out until you are within 45 days of travel. Which - given the fact that they can be held up at the border - is not always enough time. :guilty:

Hi madonna31,

Have you booked via CAA before? I am getting nervous....

Oh...my TA (CAA Ontario) told me that DH that we may get our package sooner if we paid the full amount :confused3 Anyways, I think we booked (and paid in full) on Oct 28, but the final payment date was Nov 17 - doesn't make a difference for us anyway (due to credit card statement date).

What IF we will not receive our Disney package? I started to worry because we are leaving in Jan 3 and starting next week it will be nightmare in mailing (due to Christmas & New Year). I have nothing except a plain computer printout (no letterhead, no logo) from CAA.

Do you think Disney first mailed the stuff to AAA (in US), and then AAA will forward all the stuff (including AAA vouchers) to Canada (CAA office)?

Thanks....

I haven't booked with CAA in ages, but I've booked hundreds of Magic Your Way packages through Disney directly since then and the format is still the exact same.

Really, all you require is your last name for check in, so don't even worry about it.

However - if you want your luggage tags and such before you leave - then I would advise calling up your TA and getting them to have Disney FedEx you a new set out. :)
