FYI..Charts of Dining Rotations Eastern & Western Magic (UPDATED 10/19))

donalds.......If you really want this rotation then I would suggest you call DCL, but just know that DCL will NOT GUARANTEE any rotation...it is only a request.

We requested twice and got the rotation we wanted both times.

Also, you may find that the CM on the other end of the line does not know what you are talking about when you mention APLA, PLAP, etc. I have had to enlighten many a CM about the dining rotations!!! Just be polite and patient and share your knowledge if you have to!!! The CM I spoke to last time was so happy I informed him about the rotations. He said he would send my request over to the dining department.

Good luck!!!!

According to the chart, on the Western, Formal nite has regular menus. The Captain's Gala is on SemiFormal night. On most cruises the formal nite is with the Captain . Is that correct? What do you consider semi-formal? Tux jacket, no pants! LOL! :)

Great charts!! Really helpful!

Arlene, yes the chart is correct....On semi-formal night the Captain does make an appearance in the atrium where you can meet him.

I have seen people wear cocktail dresses to formal gowns on semi-formal night. I personally wore my long dress on formal night and my dressy black pant suit on semi-formal and felt like I fit in fine. Hubby wore dark jacket, slacks, button down shirt and tie and he also fit in fine.

bumping this up because I would like to know if any recent past cruisers and future cruisers could tell me if any info has changed so I can keep the charts current.

Thanks.

MJ

That's the way it was on the 11/2! You have it right!

mmouse37 this is a great chart! I recently cruised on October 19th and there were a few differences on what we experienced compared to your chart, they are as follows:

- On the Sunday (Formal Night) the Menu/Theme we had was Master Chef and then on Thursday (Semi-Formal Night) the Menu/Theme we had was the Captains Gala.

- On the show front we had Morty the Magnificent on the Sunday and Hercules the Muse-ical on the Monday

Just thought you might like the update!

Thanks Disneyland Darren....I am going to wait to see if any other recent cruisers had noticed a change in the dining/shows. If it looks like a definite change by DCL I will change the charts....I only say that because someone cruising on 11/2 after you said there were no changes.

Thanks again.

MJ

MMOUSE37,

We are sailing Jan. 25 and are trying to get a plan together. Your chart is really helpful, except it still differs from Dave's site as far as Sun & Thurs on the Eastern itinerary. Anyone know for sure which night the Captain's Gala is held ?

Thanks,

Janet

Janet, I'll check it out... I thought I had checked it against Dave's..I'll see what the discrepancy is.

You are right about the Dave's and my charts being different for the Eastern. I really do not know which one is correct.

I read back through this thread and had gathered my info from recent cruisers. Maybe things have changed again, like the poster from 10/19 had said. I'll ask cruisers who get off this week what the deal was.

Thanks.

MJ

The Eastern is as is on my site and as DisneylandDarren said. The Master Chef's Menu is on Sunday... Formal Night. The Captain's Gala menu is on Thursday... Semi-Formal Night. Further confusing this is the fact the the Captain's welcome-aboard reception is on Sunday. But the Captain and a couple senior officers came by our table on Thursday night.

Thank you Dave and MJ. It's nice to have people so willing to help us plan our vacations.

Have a great holiday,

Janet :D :D :D :D
