Heads Up!

Not sure if it's been posted but i just checked & APH rates are up on website thru end of June, perhaps beyond...

Not much my dates, end of June, but they're there...

Disappointed that the APH rate for RPR was $23+ MORE a night ($215) than the $191.99+ I've current got booked via AAA:confused3 ; rack is $239+

HRH's coming in @ $260 or only $29 off rack.

so surprised!

I've very limited experience w/Univ on-site (did have good luck in past w/AP rate).

Has the AAA "beat" the AP for some time or is this a new development?

I was finding those same rates for my Nov. trip too. I'm guessing (hoping)that the discounts will be greater as the time comes closer.

AAA is usually the first of AAA/APH to be out. APH doesn't usually "release" till a month or two before your date.

okay, let me get this straight, i'm Universal-ly challenged;) ...

there's a chance that the listed APH rates for June (which just started to post on the Loew's site) may actually dip lower sometime between now & my trip & I should keep monitoring it?

Yup, it has happened.

Yes, but lower may not always be best, depends on the deal. If you have AAA locked in at 20% off and APH moves to 25% off you still may desire to pay 5% more and earn your Loews points with AAA stay. At least thats what I think I've learned about qualifying and non-qualifying rates. Someone set me straight if I have that wrong.

No, you're not wrong. :thumbsup2 Consider the entire rate, as AAA rates tend not to increase for Friday and Saturday night stays, while APH rates are often $20-30 (can't remember) more on the weekends. Sometimes they wind up counting APH rates towards your # of stays, but with APH rates, you're not entitled to any upgrades, Loews First welcome gift, or late check out. With AAA, you're entitled to all 3.

And APH rates dont always go down. Our trip in June last year they never did get as low as AAA. I dont expect them to drop in April when we go this year either. I have got to figure out a way to go during a none-peak time!

When will rates for as late as December be released?

Don't expect them till maybe September at the earliest

okay...

1) so how can i check my loews acct to determine if i got credit for a past stay booked on APH rate? (Did ask for & received complimentary upgrade in '05 to pool view @ HRH using APH)

Is there online access somewhere on loews website to monitor "account balance" or do i need to call the # on the card.

2) as for the perc of "late checkout request"...do you wait until the day you leave to ask if available?

Sadly, there is no place online to check your status. I only know they count because we stayed 6 nights using hotelkingdom.com, which clearly should not have counted (plus we were quite snottily informed that we didn't qualify for a welcome gift), but we got our Loews Gold card shortly thereafter. Then, we only booked APH rooms for a while, and we got our Platinum Card.

I would call the number on the back of your card and check your status.

We have always had to wait to request late check out on the morning of our departure. They would never assure us of that in advance.
