What do you bring to get around the Campground? I know many people use a golf cart, although we may rent one for a day or two, what else do you bring? We were thinking of bringing roller blades or bikes, but I'm not sure if the loops are paved for roller blades or not. I was thinking that bikes may be a bit much to have to take with us on our 23 hour drive.

I always bring feet. They come in handy in the parks as well.:lmao:

The loops are paved. When we stayed about 14 days a few years ago we brought our bikes (about a 16-18 hour trip from home to WDW). It was one of our most memorable trips - biking and having extra time to toodle around the Fort. We love renting a golf cart, too. Something about biking holds extra fond memories of that one trip. We should bring them more often - but if we know we're going to be at the parks more than the campground, we usually leave them home. Although I might have just talked myself into bringing them on every trip. :lmao: My DH still talks about how much fun it was.

Bikes are nice, as is the occasional golf cart, but feet are the cheapest! Buses work too. I'm not sure about roller blades..... I was never good on that stuff -- ice skates are out too! :lmao:

Bikes are great! There are tons of places to ride. Our last trip we saw several people on rollerblades Including one family that must have been Pros. They beat us from the 2000 loop to the marina and we were on a gof cart. We did have to wait on a bus at 2 different stops but not for long. those guys were just fast and knew the short cuts.

We take our golf cart to cruise around on. I am done taking the bikes because the kids wont ride them.

Nothing wrong with our feet and legs so we walk or ride the bikes.

We just got back from a State Park RVing weekend and yesterday wife rode her bike 12 miles and I rode mine 42 miles. Exercise is good for body and soul.

At FW we do likewise and enjoy it. But then, we are a couple of senior citizens with no kids.

We bring our golf cart and our bikes.

We bring the golf cart, of course, but we also have three wheeled scooters for getting around in FW. Here is a picture. The DW and I have trouble walking long distances, she has bad knees and my legs haven't been the same since a motorcycle accident.

Hi---we just came back three days ago from our 4th trip to Disney, but the first with our camper. We didn't bring the bikes for the kids. We figured we'd be too busy at the parks. Turns out there was a bunch of kids riding and my kids wanted to ride theirs. We don't have a golf cart and our 16 yr old was mad that "everyone else" had one but us and we had to walk everywhere. We walked to the trading posts, laundry and the boat launch. We walked and walked and walked and walked. I lost weight and the kids ate better than ever. I wish we had a golf cart for the days we did laundry or used the boat launch for M.K. because the walk was 15 minutes each way and after coming back from M.K. at 10:30 after the fireworks, no one really wanted to walk back to the camper. Take your feet this time but take extra money for a golf cart in case you want to get one for one or more days. We plan on saving money for one for the whole time we are there the next time. Everyone seemed to have fun riding them around and I want to have a turn at driving one!

We bring our cart, bikes and the pull behind kid carrier for the bikes (for dd2 and dd3).

You can ride your bikes on the cement trail to WL, but you can't take your cart on this same trail (it would great if you could though!!).

On our Last List, here's what we managed to pack in the Back of an F-150 (W/Lid)

2 Adult Bikes, 4 Kids Bikes, 4 Scooters, i Tricycle, oh and a R/C Car!

That's just how we "Roll"

We always bring our bikes when camping anywhere. It's great excersie and free transporation. :)

We take our bikes everywhere we go, but at Fort Wilderness, we also take our golf cart. Have fun!

In the past I had always brought hubby's ECV to the Fort and used it like a golf cart, but I now have a bicycle and a carrier :-)

BUT, until I can figure out how to stop from starting my day at one end of the campground and ending my day at the other end of the campground, I'll still use the buses to get to either end of the campground to go to the parks.

We bring our bikes usually. Last time, the kids brought their razor scooters and that worked really well. I think the scooters have the same type of wheels as roller blades.
