I just booked our GV for next Jan, Sun-Thurs. I want to move just my family (rule we have to have at least two nights without any guests at the end of the trip) to FW to stay in a cabin for Fri, Sat and possibly Sun nights. I have enough pts for the first two nights. My problem is that MS can't book the rooms on pts because they said points are still in negotiation for next year.

I really want to button this all up because I am getting really busy with the rest of my life and don't want to have to keep checking back with MS for the points to come out. I know that the cabins are very popular and I am afraid I will forget about them and they will be gone. Do they EVER become available for points or do they book too quickly?

What would you do? We will also have AP, so I am wondering if I should just book for cash and then wait for a discount? I can always sell the pts or bank them, they are 2008 pts... I know that the points are a more "expensive" way to go, but I like not having to pay more out of pocket, since the points are "free."

I would book it with cash, there's no penalty for cancelling it. Then see what happens.

So, if I book on cash, I can change later to points? Are all rooms listed as the Disney Collection available on points? I thought they became available for points only if they hadn't been booked on cash... Maybe I am confused because that's how non-rented dvc rooms become available for cash?

I wish there was a smiley face that was using his pointer finger to wiggle his lower lip back and forth while making the funny throat noise. That's how I feel everytime I need to make my decisions at the 11 month mark! No matter I have a year to think about it ahead of time, I'm still never ready!:scared:

I would book a 2 bedroom at OKW instead. We too like to have a few days post guests to unwind before going home.

I'm sure DebbieB either meant to book FW on cash through CRO/WDWTC or to book one of the DVC resorts for cash through MS. Either way, there is no penalty for cancelling the cash reservation - believe the CRO policy is 5 days prior without penalty and MS is up to 24 or 48 hours in advance (don't remember for sure).

None of the 2008 charts for the Disney Colleciton are out yet - when they do come out, it's a very good bet that the FW cabins will still be available for points reservations.
