I am so excited! Traveling are my mother and step-father, DH, DS9, DD3 and myself staying at FW Cabins. If you don't mind I have some q's about FW since we have never been there.

Is there an outside movie & campfire? Is it different than Hoop De Dee and Mickey's BBQ? Is it free?

Can you swim in the lake?

We don't want to get a golf cart, will it be much trouble to cart a full size stroller back and forth on busses/boat? DD is 3 and we are bring it on the plane.

While there, it will be my mom and step-father's anniversary. I want to do and ADR or something for just the two of them. Where do you suggest?

Is there alcohol? I didn't know if we needed to bring in our own.

How is the pool?

The boys will want to golf once while there. Any suggestions?

TIA and I appreciate all your help!

Yes, the campfire sing-a-long is free and it is different than the MBYBBQ and HDDMR.

No, you cannot swim in the lake.

No, strollers will be no more a problem at FW than at other resorts.

For anniversary ADRs I would recommend Citricos at WL.

They sell alcohol at the trading posts, but it is insanely expensive. I would bring my own.

The pool is in transition, but it looks to be quite nice by the end of the month.

Osprey Ridge is right next door, and a half dozen courses are within 15 minute's drive. Lots of golf, enjoy!

Yes there is a outside movie and campfire as well as a sing along. It is behind the Meadows trading post. It happens every day and there is a singalong with Chip and Dale and you can roast marshmellows around the two campfires. Chip and Dale walk around and interact with the kids. Afterwards there is a disney movie. Its loads of fun and a must do. It is different in the HDD or the BBQ as there is no meal involved, and it is free.

There is a beautiful beach but you cannot swim in the lake. Not sure why, but i am sure someone here will know.

I dont think it is that big of a deal to cart a stroller, but you will have to be able to fold it up to get on the buses. You can wheel it right on to the boat.

There are many great dinners you can choose from. THe Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge is a lot of fun and the kids will enjoyit too. Make sure one of the kids asks for catsup.

Yes there is alcohol, but it will cost you.

There are two pools at Fort Wilderness. There is a small, non themeed pool near the cabins. RIght now the main pool is being redone and themed and will now include a slide and hot tub.

Cant answer the golf question, but i know there are many courses.

You will have a blast! Enjoy!

Ditto to all except, Artist's Point at WL (Wilderness Lodge) is also quite nice. Ask for a window seat that over looks the falls. AND be sure to order the Portabella soup. The best in the world!!

You might want to request a cabin close to one of the bus stops to make the stoller issue a little easier.

Enjoy the trip.

Citricos is at the GF. :thumbsup2

For a special dinner Kona Cafe at the Poly is nice. :thumbsup2

Is there an outside movie & campfire? Is it different than Hoop De Dee and Mickey's BBQ? Is it free?Yes there is an outside movie and campfire, its free but you do have to pay for smores fixings. Its very different then Hoop De Doo and Mckey's BBQ. All it is is a movie on a big screen projector and a campfire going in the background.

Can you swim in the lake? NO

We don't want to get a golf cart, will it be much trouble to cart a full size stroller back and forth on busses/boat? I would think it might be, but its up to you.

While there, it will be my mom and step-father's anniversary. I want to do and ADR or something for just the two of them. Where do you suggest? Califronia Grill or Shula's Steakhouse

Is there alcohol? There's a bar called Crocket's Tavern but it doesn't open untill 4:30pm and closes at 10pm. I don't remember if alchohol is sold at either of the trading posts

How is the pool? There are two pools. One of them is in the middle of the whole resort and is very buy, the other is in the middle of the cabins and not as busy. The pools are far from anything special, just plain pools

The boys will want to golf once while there. Any suggestions? All of the golf courses at disney are nice.

There are many choices I like, here are three,,

1. Artist Point,, at the WILDERNESS LODGE

2. Narcoossee's,,at the GRAND FLORIDIAN

3. Kona Cafe ,, at the POLYNESIAN

as a favorite, these are not in any order.
