Going for 10-12 nights last week of April and 1st week of May. It will be me, DH, DD (5) and DD (2). Just started checking out the FW Cabins and they seem really neat. But will we lose the Disney *Magic*. It seems to offer so much; room, kitchen, the activities. The pool doesn't excite me much there, but there is so much more to do. We had originally wanted to stay at CB. At least the pool has a slide. Any opinions out there? :D

You're right about the pool. The only thing it really has going for it is the size. But FW and the cabins are great, especially with young ones. We stayed there twice when our kids were younger. It was wonderful to be able to put them to bed and be able to close the door and stay up for a while without them. The kitchen is nice for a quick breakfast. My kids never wanted more than a bagel or cereal when they were younger.

As far as losing the magic....no way! You will feel every bit as much as anywhere else! I personally think it is one of the most "magical" place at the World.

We stayed at the cabins in Nov. 2000. They are nice and the area is just beautiful - very woodsy. We were 4 adults and had plenty of room. You will have more privacy and can also save a bit on food because you have a full kitchen. But everything is very spread out. Depending on what cabin you're in, the walk to the bus stop can be quite far. And to go to the store or activities, you have to take the internal bus. You should definitely rent a car if you decide to stay there.

:)

Thanks for the replies. We are leaning toward the Cabins. Just so much more room, or at least it seems that way. I'll also love to have a full size fridge.

If you will go to the camping forum you will see a lot of discussions about the cabins. The only negative thing I have seen is the fact that the pool is plain.
Good Luck!! :p

Ive stayed in both. IMHO for a long stay of 10-12 nights I think Id go with the cabin. Theres plenty of magic at FW and lots to do also.

I would go with the cabins. Our kids were 9 & 10 on our first trip (9 nights) and they never thought twice about FW not being 'Disney enough'. The parks themselves were overwhelming enough, a little sensory detox was actually kinda good for them. With yours being much younger, I can't imagine they'd notice at all. We enjoyed going to the outdoor movies, and the kids loved chasing the little lizards in the woods. Our driveway was lined with pine cones -- it was just all so peaceful and perfect. If you're going to spend lots of time in FW, I'd rent one of the golf carts -- your kids are kinda little to walk a lot. Our kids rented bikes and loved it!

Also, its real nice having the separate bedroom -- can put the kids to bed and close the door and still have some 'grown up time' in the rest of the cabin...

If you go during the holidays, take something to decorate your front window. We were there for Halloween, and didn't know to do this, but almost all the cabins had pumpkins glowing in the windows. It was too cool.
