Okay heres the deal.. Right now im in the process of putting the final touches on our Universal Studios Vacation for this summer. I cant help but want SOOOO bad to be going to WDW.... but alas i have neither the time or money for 5 to 6 nights in a nice hotel and theme park tickets and food etc. So im settling for Universal which is just fine! Im hoping I won't go nuts, being in the same city as WDW... especially when i go to DTD for Cirque... I havent really had a vacation to Disney since late 1997... ive missed allot I know... but ive kept myself very very updated on everything thats going on... When I come back from Universal I want to start planning and saving for a WDW trip... When should I go?? Ive always wanted to attend the happy haunts ball, ive heard Christmas Time at Disney is Beautifull, Spring Break Crouds wouldnt bother me... what should I shoot for? Which is the best? And does anyone have any good ways of saving up money? How can i do this very Cost efficiently? help! thanks always!

You could sneak over to Disney for a character dinner at a resort and the EWP or the campfire at FW.

Just a thought to get a low cost DIS fix.

Good luck
Sandy

Just my opinion, but you should try to visit WDW during Christmas time! (I love crowds, so I'm actually going to be there on Christmas Eve & Christmas day!!) If you want to avoid the crowds visit sometime during the first two weeks in December. Here's a link that shows you whats going on in December....

You also asked about budgeting. Have you been over to the Budget board? It's great over there. Lot's of suggestions - like a change jar. When I put my change (only silver) in a jar on a daily basis it really adds up. I think one recent trip we had close to $70 in change and I had not been that faithful in putting money in the jar daily and it was only about 3 or so months before the trip that I started. I think in my current jar (quarters only) I have about $20 in it now, I anticipate having about $50 by my August trip, which should be just enough to purchase my Pal Mickey! Anyway, if you have a chance make your way over to the Budget board for lots more suggestions.

P.S. You'll have a great time at Universal! Are you staying onsite? We have stayed at the Portofino twice and it was awesome! You think fastpass is nice, you haven't seen nothin' like the front-of-line privilege you get as a Universal guest. It just can't be beat! Some of my personal favs are Spiderman (the guy in the suit and the ride), Hulk, Twister, Terminator and Men in Black plus Citywalk is just great too. Have a wonderful trip!

No im unfortunately not staying onsite:( ... Im staying at the Sheraton Studio City hotel... Ive heard great things about it... Im gonna get my Disney fix by heading to the Cirque one night... Hopefully I wont attatch myself to a passing bus going to Epcot and try to sneak under a fence somewhere... Im just to unpredictable!! I have started a jar that I think I have about $20 in for this trip... I need to hurry and make my reservations... Ive already checked availability and price i just have to make the ressies... Does anyone have any good tips on bringing new people Universal? that would help since im bringing 3 newbies.. I cant wait to get this trip over so I can really start planning my trip to disney...YAY!!! :Pinkbounc
