Does anybody have any opinions (good or bad) on this camera?

I wish I could afford a Canon EOS...there are a few posters on the thread "Picture of the Day" that use that particular camera and they produce amazing photos...but that camera is well over a grand and out of my price range.

I was skimming through that thread hoping to find someone that uses the Sony camera I mentioned above so I could see the quality of photos it's capable of...

I have the sony cybershot 5.1 mp and I love it! (I have dsc w1)
I like that the one you linked because it has "Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens" your camera is only as good as your lens, and I am not sure with this one but mine you can switch the lens and get many different kinds of shots with it.

This looks like a good deal I am really happy with my sony and would 100% buy a sony again!

We use the Nikon D70 and are upgrading to the Nikon D80 got it for 950.00 from Henry's. My aunt and uncle use a Sony and while it takes a nice picture they have had to have it repaired 3 times for the lenses not sliding anymore the first 2 times were under warranty and the last time they had to pay for it 475.00 to get it fixed and cleaned.

Ya exactly I guess they got a bad one it happens no company is exempt from it but I am very leary of their cameras from now on and when we bought our 10 year old DD her digital point and shoot she got a Canon as the Nikon we wanted to get for her was out of stock everywhere.

If you really want to buy this camera, go to Amazon.com, they have it for about $416??? and probably free shipping!
I have an oportunity to get this camera (or many OTHER choices) for free, so I'm trying to read a few reviews. I have the Olympus 500UZ and not to happy with the pictures overall. When you get that 1 great shot, it's great. But my brother has a cannon and I could not believe his pictures. He went on the Disney cruise and the color of the water in his pictures were unbelievable!!

I second getting a Canon. Last year we got a 5.1 Sony and thought we had a good camera until we lost it. Sony makes a very good LCD screen and it is very deceiving when the pictures shows up great after the shot is taken. After taking the pictures in for developing...I would say only 4 out of 10 were clear and crisp. Now we have a Canon and it is so much better! Very bright colours and crisp clear pictures. Sony is a pretty camera and looks great on paper but does it take good pictures?

we just got our first digital camera and we went with Canon. I did a lot of research and found they were the best
