Future of VMK Central in WDW

Just flew back from WDW the other night and boy are my arms tired - ba-dump-dump. (After one of the most frustrating airline trips I've ever had, but that's another thread!)

Anyway, I didn't see where this has been posted yet but for those that are curious...

WDW Main Street Cinema

They still have the VMK posters in the windows, but you can't get into the theater. Getting ready to put up high-priced disney artwork I guess.

I heard a Bibbity-Bobbity-Botique along with the art. Maybe they will give out VMK cards at the Art Center?!

I am hoping that VMK will have Computers somewhere in Inoventions where we can still create our characters.
And I would still like to see them give out the VMK cards when you buy something, like in the candy store you get the penny press (don't think it's there anymore tho.) That's what I'm hoping they will do for the rest of the Mickey Special Furniture...

I was there a little over a week ago and saw the same thing. No more computers there. I was SO excited about creating a character in the park. wah!! But glad to see the computers are still at DL. When I go there next summer, I hope they are still around.

They are at Innoventions (DLR). Also, the Penny Presses are available at the Music Shop on Main Street (DLR)

LOL I thought that joke was very clever! Cool news about the future of VMK in WDW. Now for something official ...

The art/collectibles gallery from the Castle is what is being moved into the Cinema. It was displaced when they decided to put a Bibbidi Bobbitti Boutique in the Castle where the collectibles and art used to be.

And *ducks from rotten tomatoes* as much as I liked the in-park quests, I like my Disney art and collectibles a lot more than the quests or VMK in general, so thankfully those things are still going to be located somewhere in the park (although of course they would be, as that stuff, I'd assume, is a big money maker). Although I'm sad to see the old Castle location go.

I'm a little puzzled about this. When you mention "They are. Innoventions." are you saying that VMK computers are at Epcot's Innoventions or are you jsaying that there are plain-ol' computers at Innoventions?

I dont believe there are any vmk computers at innoventions. I think we all suspect they might be heading over there.

Agnes, Goofy was referring to the computers at DLR Innoventions. I believe you are asking at WDW Innoventions.

i was just in DLR last week and we checked innoventions. they still have the computers for vmk but you can't create "born in park" characters anymore. i was trying to make one but it wouldn't work, then a cast member said that the "born in park" feature no longer existed.

I can confirm this personally. At the beginning of last week on my trip to WDW the posters were up. By Thursday they were gone! So Sad!
