Background: I have a license plate that reads DVCBDWK. Everyone asks me what it means, and I have a fun time explaining it.

So today I was headed to the mall when I stop at a traffic light. Next to me pulls up another car, and the man driving starts motioning for me to roll down my window. Immediately, there are two things weird with this situation: 1) I'm driving on a 2-lane road, and he pulls up in the shoulder next to me; 2) the driver looks spookily like a friend of mine that lives in FL.

Thinking I have a flat tire or something, I roll down the window. He says 'I'm a DVC member at Old Key West, and I just wanted to say hi to my Florida neighbor!' I told him that nobody ever understood my license plate, and it was great to meet somebody that could decipher it. His response was something to the effect of 'why would people have trouble understanding it? It's so obvious!' With that I nearly start laughing, but the timing couldn't be better, as the light turned green. He waved me on, and said 'DVC - good times! Enjoy your next vacation!' He then got back on the road behind me.

That really put a smile on my face. If the guy that pulled up next to me is reading this, hello!

Great story and great license plate! It is a small world after all.

If I ever saw you at the shore I would get it Deb, great story!!!! :rotfl2:

That's is awesome! We have a plate the reads DVC4US and nobody ever gets that one either......

You never know who you're talking to. We were at Cape Cod a couple of weeks ago and as a whim decided to check out Nickerson State Park. We asked the ranger about the best campsites in the park and he joked, "Well if you don't find anything then I'll rent you my house." I responded, "Well, then
you can rent my DVC." He approached our car, and laughed. "I've got Boardwalk DVC myself." Even a Cape Cod ranger loves DVC!

Love the story! I had a personalized tag for awhile: BRDWYBB (Broadway Baby; I'm a show nut) and I pulled off the highway one day to get some gas a truck pulled in behind me, pulled up alongside and the guy shouted out of his window "Broadway Baby, right?" I said "Yeah!" He said "Thank you!" and pulled back onto the highway and sped off!!!! It must've driven him CRAZY!!!!

Great plate and story!

Once in a while someone will get my plates AC(Heart)DSNY. I think the Disney license plates frames give it away.

I was doing ~80 mph on I-77 heading for I-95 on the 13th when some crazy woman driving a Suburban pulled up along side me wanting to know what my plate meant. She, the passenger, is yelling at me while we driving... I don't know who is crazier, her for asking or me for trying to answer.

My plate? PYMTS

Now remember, my name is Mike S and my wife is Peggy or you can use Payments.
