Fun Ways To Count Down To Disney

This is a thread for everyone to give ideas on how to make counting down the days to their disney trips any ideas?

Hi Miranda! . I did a countdown with a friend where every day we took turns singing a disney song with the lyrics we knew.. And comparing them to the actual lyrics of that song... Was fun to hear the differences from we thought we knew to what actually was lol... Learned quite a bit by the time the trip came!

Themed dinner or dinner items each night and they have to guess what disney movie is represented? Maybe like candles and "grey" stuff for beauty and the beast? . Good luck!

We're doing a Disney movie per night to countdown to our trip. It's an excuse to watch them.

that would be cute... Kinda going along with the movie themes, you can give him a little gift each day that represents each letter in the words "Mickey Mouse" (11) or "Disney"

I cut out Mickey Heads from Post-It notes and wrote down ___ Days until Disney, and stuck them on my wall.

I always watch a Disney movie every Wednesday.

We've done a few things. Once I printed a fun fact about Disney and put one fact a day (for 30 days) on the fridge. The facts were things like: Disney World decorates more than 1,500 Christmas trees at holiday time. OR... If you look closely at the mosaic mural on the fourth-floor lobby of Disney's Contemporary Resort, you can see a five-legged goat facing the monorail track.

Another time I waited until a week out from our trip. Each night at supper we gave our kids a gift bag with something they will need on the trip along with a note. For example, lip balm with a reminder to use it in Florida's heat. Or gum with a note saying they may want this to help their ears on the plane. Another gift was money to buy a treat at Main Street Confectionary.

On another trip I planned movie nights. The meal was themed around the movie (I made a menu and posted it on the fridge). We ate the meal while we watched the movie. Here are a few pics of the menu/meal/movie idea.

The pirate themed one was very cute I might steal that idea .

I asked my daughter to help me remember and she has a better memory than I do.

1. Snack bag with their favorite snacks for the plane.
2. Gum for the plane
3. A game for their Gameboys (they were into Gameboys when we did this)
4. Money for the Main Street Confectionary
5. A small hand held misting fan for the park
6. Lip balm and a poncho in case it rained at the park.
7. $5 gift card to Starbucks to get a hot chocolate at the airport

The autograph book is a great idea! I think a t-shirt would be nice, too.

It was fun to do and we love the Pirate Movies. The menu is hard to read but the main dish was wings and I called them Grilled Parrot. Also, not in the picture is Ships-n-dip (chips and dip). Another cute idea to add is cannonballs (can be black olives, red grapes or malt balls). A pasta salad could be seaweed salad, hot dogs cut up to look like octopus could be Squid. So many ideas. Enjoy~your son will love it.

I would have to wait maybe till the day of our trip to give him the snacks so he didn't eat them before hand..
Everything should be small enough to put in a carry on.

I hear you on eating the treats beforehand. I told my kids the treat bag with the snacks had to stay in the pantry until we left for the airport.

I was thinking about other things to do and if you have a Walgreens they have quite a few Disney items (pencils, candy, stuffed animals, character cups) and they are reasonably priced. You could go online to the Disney Store for a shirt and they often have sales. Sometimes Walmart has Disney character shirts.
So many ideas with this that can be done for not much money or more money if you choose to spend more.
