What are the fun things to do at the Boardwalk Inn?

We haven't stayed at the BWI but I can tell you that they rent surrey bikes ON the Boardwalk and they are so much fun! It takes some pedaling to get up the hills but we laughed the whole time. Be careful when you coast down the hills though because you can gain a lot of speed and you don't want to run anyone over. Our first trip I really didn't know about the bikes and we were walking on the Boardwalk and a man was doing some sort of entertainment for the kids and I was standing there watching my kids and a surrey bike with 2 young couples came flying down the hill and another lady that didn't see them walked in their path and they veered just as I was turning around to walk off. They had to stop which apparently made them angry because they stared at me and one of the women called me a curse word. They almost run over me and my kids and they are cursing me? Hello? I didn't say a word since it isn't worth it. But they ARE fun to ride! (It gives the legs a workout too).

On certain evenings, there is entertainment on the Boardwalk. You can also watch Illuminations from down by Atlantic Dance.

In addition to the Surrey Bikes, you can rent boats and take them up to MGM.

It's always fun to get something from the bakery or Spoodles, sit on a bench and people watch. Such a beautiful location & relaxing!

There are carnival games at night to play on the BW. They are fun, but somewhat pricey - I think $2 to play. There are hair wraps and face painting booths. ESPN Club is cool place to go. At night there is usually some Sports celebrity and trivia games. Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar, which is a great time, but there are no kids allowed.

All of the boardwalk entertainment is fun but 2 entertainers that are exceptionally good are Randy who is a juggler--very good and a fire eater, who I can't remember his name; also very good. You can get the entertainment schedule at guest services in the BW lobby.
If you have kids and they want the stuffed animal prizes a very easy way to do it is the water pistol game. It is very easy to find this game empty in the early evening, so no one besides your family is playing. You are guaranteed a winner and the kids are happy!
Love to get ice cream from Seashore Sweets and either walk around the lake to the YC/BC side or just sit at a table by the water and watch the friendship boats and the people on the boardwalk.
One of absolute favorite boardwalk activites is Jellyrolls! This place is a blast. You can really have a good time in here once it gets rolling. This is over 21 only.

Has anyone ever witnessed a pedestrian crash with these bikes? I've seen close calls but never witnessed an accident thank gosh. I can imagine mostly children get hurt.

My DH and I like to stop by the Belle Vue Room at the BWI for a couple of games of backgammon (and a drink of some sort!). It is a nice break from the heat, crowds and craziness in the parks and for some reason my luck is GOLDEN there so I beat him almost every game

Something we did this last trip was to rent the Breathless during the day (at the YC marina). My kids loved being driven around the water fronting the Boardwalk getting soaked from the wake (the captain, with our knowledge, did his best to drench them!). In fact, that is the one thing that they said we HAVE to do on our next trip. Forget the high tech theme park water rides....according to my kids, they'd rather have 30 minutes in the back seat of the Breathless any day!
