Fun, Sun, and Mickey Mouse! An August 2009 TR...new 11/19 p. 34

I'm late but I am here. Now, I am going back to read it.

Welcome! I see you have another new TR too...I'll have to go check yours out!

Aww...last days are the worst.:sad2: But, you found a great way to spend it.... riding Soarin'.:thumbsup2 I LOVE  Soarin'!!! It's one of my very favorites as well,so I know exactly how you feel.:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about your KP missions!!popcorn::

Soarin is quite possibly the best Disney attraction ever, IMO. :goodvibes:thumbsup2

I'm hoping to have another update done soon! It's about time I wrap this TR up (even though I don't want to...:sad1:).

Hey! Sorry I've been so behind :( I went to visit my little sister who is a freshman at Duke this weekend and didn't bring my computer. Anyways, I loved all the updates! Glad the rain cleared up for you guys at DHS and I loved hearing about your AIE show. I was getting annoyed with those girls just reading about it!!

I always see people wearing stuff with logos of the sports teams I like. I almost always say GO TRIBE, GO BUCKS, GO HAWKS, GO CAVS, or whatever, and usually people look at me like I am crazy. So I don't blame you for not saying anything to the girl with the Brewers hat, LOL!

I HATE last days at Disney. Hate, hate, hate!

Oooh, did you have fun at Duke? LOL, yeah, those people were beyond annoying.

Wait did you say Bucks? As in Buckeyes?!:eek: As a Wolverine fan please don't tell me you are an Ohio State fan...;) haha, just kidding. I don't know why I don't say anything, a lot of times people will say something to us when we're wearing Brewers/Packers/MU stuff. :confused3

Last days are the WORST.

Soarin never gets old. Looking forward to hearing about the Kim Possible missions. I have not tried it yet.

I can't believe you are on your last day.

August 24, 2009 (part 2)

OK, I've got to backtrack a little bit...on our way over to the Land Emma wanted to go into the Character Spot to meet some of the characters. That would've been a good idea to go inside the air conditioning for a bit, but apparently everyone else had the same idea. It was PACKED! So unfortunately we didn't stay. Why am I mentioning this then? My parents' anniversary is at the end of August and Dad was trying to find something to give to my mom. We always have such a hard time picking stuff out for her so I suggested he just try to get some of those anniversary buttons. So Dad asked one of the CMs working in there where he could get those. I know you can usually get them at guest relations but it turns out that the guy was able to give him some right there. Woo hoo! Atleast now we had something for Mom! I'm wondering if you could get any of those buttons there. :scratchin

Now back to where I left off...

After our flight on Soarin we ended up grabbing a quick snack from some of the restaurants right in the Land. I got a croissant and some milk, Emma got a bag of Doritos :upsidedow and once again I don't remember what Dad got. :headache: We figured out what we wanted to do for the rest of the morning, which of course included atleast one of the Kim Possible missions! Yes, I am 24 years old but I thought they sounded like a lot of fun and Dad was willing to do one too (Emma, on the other hand...). When we were done with our snacks we headed back outside to enjoy more of Future World. Dad suggested we go over to Honey, I Shrunk the Audience to see how long we'd have to wait for the next show. It wasn't too bad so we decided to wait.

The new preshow is pretty cute but sometimes we miss the old "True Colors" one. I think my dad said once he found it on youtube...So then we were given our instructions and told not to put on our safety goggles until we were "safely seated safely inside the theater safely." :rotfl: Dad always likes to quote that one, haha! This is another one of those shows where it's hilarious hearing the first timers' reactions. Especially with some of the effects that you don't know are coming. The part with the mice always kinda freaked me out so I'd usually end up pulling my legs up onto my seat so I wouldn't feel it (yeah, sometimes I'm a wuss). But I am proud to say that time I didn't bother.

When the show was over World Showcase was open so we made our way over there for our mission. We had to get a "fastpass" type ticket at Innoventions (you can get them at either side, plus I think there are kiosks on the pathway from Future World to World Showcase) that gives you an assigned time to report to a "top secret location" at International Gateway to pick up our Kimmunicator. Dad said if it's "top secret" how are we going to find it? haha! Luckily when we were at Epcot on one of the other days I saw the station they were talking about so I knew where to go. We found the location and the CM set up our Kimmunicator...pretty much a cell phone with the game on it. He told us how to use it and we were off! We decided to do the United Kingdom mission first. I think when we got our "fastpass" we had to pick which country we wanted to do.

Before long we had our signal and one of the KP characters appeared on the screen. He told us we needed to immediately report to the United Kingdom and check in with him when we got there. So off to the UK it was.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!*

6289_1147298335066_1605780003_30581937_7826450_n.jpg

Once we were in the UK he told us the story of the villain we needed to track down. Apparently the guy had an evil plot to turn the entire world into one giant golf course and we needed to keep him from doing that. Did you know Spaceship Earth, aka the giant golf ball, was this guy's work?! :scared1: LOL.

5210_605122238224_20305212_35625985_6812801_n.jpg

We were given some more clues and told to go into one of the shops to look for a secret message that we needed to report back to KP dude. We found the message and entered it into the Kimmunicator. I forget exactly how the story went but then KP dude told us how we needed to analyze a golf ball to see if it contained the formula to turn everything into the golf course. He told us to meet him over at the phone booth near the Rose and Crown pub.

5210_605122243214_20305212_35625986_3480403_n.jpg

Then we had to cram ourselves into the phone booth so nobody else could hear and out of a mysterious pipe came our golf ball! I have to admit it's pretty cool how they've incorporated all of these elements into WS.

After a few more little tasks we were congratulated for saving the world! We had defeated the villain! Yay us. :) KP dude told us that there was more danger and asked us if we could help him out. So where did he send us to next?...popcorn::

I think the KP missions are great. My whole family enjoys them :thumbsup2 We were picked for the testing of this back in '06 and it was the UK mission.... so fun!

LOL sounds like fun. I may have to try it, lol!

Good trip report ! I read the entire thing (so far) in 1 sitting. Helped to pass the time at work. LOL. You and your sister are cute btw ;)

Nice update. The Kim Possible missions are fun for any age. We had a blast with them. I skimmed the park about the UK mission since I haven't done it and it's near the top of the list for missions to try next time. Must avoid too many spoilers! :rotfl: Anyway, looks like you're having fun. Wonder where they'll send you next.

That's cool you got chosen for testing. So was the test similar to how I described it or did they change the storyline at all? Just curious...

Yes, you should try it. hehe

Welcome! I'm honored you chose to read my TR while at work. :teeth: haha Thanks for the compliment. :flower3:

I thought they were fun but after a while my sister started to get bored. Stay tuned for more...

I had to skip over the KP details. We still haven't done one, but I want to! And this is the one thing at WDW I don't want to know about before doing it!!

Soarin'. Ahhhhh. :cloud9: I also love how people clap at the end - it's SUCH a great ride! My MIL (who was last at WDW in the 70's), has read about this ride and is very excited to try it. We will have to surely be there at rope drop to get a FP during NYE week! It will be worth it though. :thumbsup2

I think your MIL will love Soarin! When my parents and sister went in '06 my grandma went along with them and she absolutely LOVED it. I guess the whole time she was ooohing and aaaahing. LOL!

Oooh yeah, those New Year's crowds can be crazy! :scared1: We were there on NYE in '07 and some of the waits were over 200 minutes...

KP missions sound like so much fun!!! I'm hoping we can finally get around to giving them a try on our next visit! I know they are something that my boys would absolutely love doing!! Thanks for the great update!!:goodvibes

When we tested it, they had all the separate missions combined into one giant one. It took a few hours to go thru all of the countries and then we went into a building (forget which one now) where we watched a final show and gave our comments and feedback to CMs.

The Kimmunicators and their messages stayed the same. I remember the giant golf course evil plot and Alex going into the telephone booth where the golf ball was spit out. We had to find certain shops and coats of arms and wait for things to happen.... sounds pretty similar to yours. I really want to do the France one next. :thumbsup2

It seemed all the kids we saw doing them really liked it. Plus the Kimmunicator is pretty cool, not going to lie. I think that was my sister's favorite part.

Hmm, that's interesting about the test!

We did the France one. Next on my list is Norway. I'm still convinced each country has more than one mission...you'll find out why in my next update...don't want to give away too much! ;)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Time for another update...I've got to get this TR finished...not much left now! :guilty:

August 24, 2009 (part 3)

After completing our UK mission, the KP dude (if anybody knows the guy's actual name, please tell me! I don't know much about Kim Possible and can't for the life of me remember his name)asked us if we were willing to help out on another mission. Since the first one only took about ten minutes we decided to go ahead and do another one. On the Kimmunicator there was a list of the other countries where there are missions. Since we were planning on getting something to eat in France anyway we chose the France mission. Again, he told us to meet him over in France where he'd tell us about the new adventure.

6289_1147298375067_1605780003_30581938_6059877_n.jpg

POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!

I know this is going to disappoint you all but sadly I really can't remember the story line for this one. :confused3  I remember some of the things we had to do but not the actual purpose of the mission. Ohhh well.

One of the first things we had to do was find a little tree near the one of the shops. A lot of times if you are having trouble with the instructions you can press a button on the Kimmunicator for help. But really they're not too difficult. When we found the tree KP dude told us to look up at the Eiffel Tower so we could have our picture taken. Then sure enough a picture of us showed up on the Kimmunicator! I thought that was pretty cool and I guess I must've been in awe because I started wondering how they did that. Was there somebody up there taking pictures? I know, sometimes I don't think reasonably. LOL!

The mission took us to other interactive displays (again, it's really neat how they have all these things set up in the various countries): we had to find a specific book that the villain had read (his fingerprints showed up on it!), a gargoyle, a camera located near the waterfront, etc. Emma was starting to get bored so she mostly just wandered around taking pictures.

6289_1147298415068_1605780003_30581939_2025819_n.jpg

Even though I can't remember the story we defeated the villains again. But there was STILL more trouble being caused in World Showcase and KP dude wanted us to help out. We decided that we'd had enough for one day so we declined. So then we were given our instructions on where to drop off our Kimmunicator. There are special drop-off boxes located in each of the countries. Let me tell you, they're kind of hard to find but there was a KP logo on the slot you drop them in. Overall Dad and I enjoyed the missions. My only complaint is that there are a lot of people doing the same mission at once so there's always the chance you might see another group solving the clues and then it's not a surprise. (We didn't have that problem but I'm just saying...;))

Before getting some lunch at the bakery we ended up going in to see the France movie, which is something we haven't done in a long time, if ever. When we were younger my sisters and I HATED World Showcase and really never wanted to do anything in the countries. It was a pretty interesting movie and afterward Emma said she wanted to visit the real France.

Then it was time for some yummy French food! Mmmm, we love the little bakery there. So many good things to choose from. I got a ham and cheese sandwich, Dad got his usual ham and cheese croissant, and we got some of the chocolate mousse to share. We were able to find a table outside to sit and enjoy our food.

5210_605122248204_20305212_35625987_5928253_n.jpg

As we were eating I noticed a bunch of other people doing the Kim Possible mission. The weird thing was that some of the groups were looking at things that we did not do on our mission. At first I thought maybe they were finding the wrong things but then I could kind of see the interactive stuff. So it's either each country has a couple different missions or there's just more than one way to go about completing them. After our lunch we stopped in a few more shops to see if we could find another gift for mom. We ended up getting something for her in the tea shop in the United Kingdom. While we were in there we saw another family doing the KP mission but when we did it we didn't stop in the tea shop. More evidence that they're not always the same.

Once we had mom's gift it was time to say good-bye to Epcot. :sad1: We made our way back towards Future World. We had a couple photopass pictures taken with Spaceship Earth as the backdrop.

Good-bye, SSE!

See ya soon, Epcot!

Before long our bus came to take us back to the Wilderness Lodge for our last afternoon break. :sad1:

up next: One final visit to the Magic Kingdom and DHS

Nice update. I love the bakery in France. It does have some really good chocolate mousse, among many other things. :cloud9: Plus, that movie is so wonderful too. Between those things and your mission, it sounds like you had a great time in France.

I think the "KP dude" you're thinking about is Wade. And yeah, I did hear that there are more interactive spots in the pavillion than you can go to in one mission, so you can do them multiple times and not get the same mission every time.

H A P P Y H A L L O W E E N ! !

We didn't get to France on our August trip :headache:. I didn't know you could keep going with the KP missions! George was a little like Emma, not totally enthused about doing them. Next time (sans hubby) I'll do more of them with the kiddos. :thumbsup2

YES, that is it, Wade. Thank you! :thumbsup2

Yeah, we probably could've done all of them if we wanted to. Hopefully in April we can do another one.

Hope you had a good Halloween Sarah :)

I think I want to try those KP missions when we're there at the end of the month! They sound pretty cool and its another way to explore the WS. So sad about your last day though :guilty:
