Fun, Sun and Mickey ~ Easter 2007 ~ Day 5

Tuesday March 27th
Weather ~ hot, sunny 82*F

After breakfast we packed a small case and drove to Walmart for a few supplies.

It was an enjoyable drive to St Pete Beach and we arrived about 2.30pm. We had booked the Grand Plaza Beach Hotel, formerly the Holiday Inn. There are some absolutely dire reviews about this hotel on Trip Advisor but as it was the only hotel that ticked all our boxes we had decided to chance it.

Well, the lobby looked very nice but our suite wasn’t ready so we went for a wander round the area, booked a boat trip for tomorrow and relaxed on the beach for a while before going to Crabby Bill’s next door to the hotel for a meal. What a fabulous meal, we all had burgers and fries and at the end of the holiday all decided these were the best burgers ever. Samantha and I had key lime pie for dessert, Danielle and Francesca had a chocolate peanut butter brownie and Bryan had rice pudding. All were very yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only is the food here really good there is also a great atmosphere in the place.

On returning to the hotel our suite was ready so we went upstairs with trepidation. There was no need ~ both rooms and the bathroom were absolutely spotless. We had two balconies ~ this is the view from one

and this is the view from the other.

We had great pleasure in sitting and watching the sunset whilst enjoying a much needed cup of tea then went for a long walk along the beach in the moonlight which is soooo romantic, especially with kids in tow!!!

Tomorrow ~ swimming, sunbathing and dolphin-watching.

What a lovely set of photos Elaine! Such a nice day. I know we always find it very hard to leave behind the parks of Orlando but we are invariably delighted we do I remember a cracking meal at Crabby Bill's.


I must admit sometimes Trip Advisor has scared the life out of me and then the accommodation has turned out very well.
