Fun shaped rubber bands for kids

These are the big thing at DS 9's school - they are shaped rubber bands like farm animals, hearts, stars, etc in different colors...the kids wear them on their wrists and trade them with their friends. Are these or were these popular at other schools?

Yep, really popular here in my DDs schools. They trade them like baseball cards. My 4th grader wants to get new packs today, as a matter of fact - I refuse to buy them so she's using her chores money

i have never seen or heard of them till yesterday.. some little girl about 8 was coming out of the hallmark store literally in tears, jumping up and down soooo excited i thought she won the lottery. the clerk said her mom bought her two packs of rubber bands... i was so tickled at her excitement!!

They are very popular with the kids in my 2nd grade class! I have to admit, I think they're pretty cool, too.

They were HUGE here in the fall, but have fallen "out of style" with my daughter and her friends. In fact, she has about 100 or so she's wanting me to sell on eBay.

The kids here (gr3-5) are crazy about them. HOWEVER....some have been shooting them off in the lunchline and almost fell into the food which would have caused us to throw out a whole pan of food...NOT a good thing. I tell the kids that if they play with the bands in the line they are going in the trash.

They were pretty popular here last fall also. They are starting to fizzle out though. Makes you wonder how trends travel?
