Besides clothes what do I need for 5 day cruise? Pirate costume, princess stuff for DD, magnets, fish hanger, clothes pin......

Binoculars to see ships and the islands passing by. Hot/cold tumblers for free sodas, water, coffee, self-serve ice cream (take to the movie theater). Small bag of first aid/medicine cabinet items (band-aids for blisters, sunscreen, motion sickness, tummy troubles, etc.).

First aid items are available at the customer service (I know it has a different name but I can't think of it.) Pack as lightly as possible. The first time we didn't use 50% of what I packed. The second time was better but stuff still went unneeded.

We've done 4 cruises so far. I have a small carry on that I put stuff in. As I pack it I tell myself that I probably won't use/need it and that I shouldn't take it, yet I still take it!! lol!!

Door decorations if you're going to decorate the door. Autograph book for character siggies WITH a PEN for them to use. Just make sure you leave extra space for things you buy while on the cruise.

I bring an extra pillow case. I like lots of pillows, like to prop me up to read in bed. So I can stuff towels or a jacket inside the pillow case for an extra one (although perhaps I can just ask??). I aslo bring one of those little candles that run on batteries. The votive size. I keep in on the nightstand and turn it on if it's too dark inside the cabin to get to the bathroom. ALSO the lights in the bathrooms are usually blinding at 3am. Clothespins for the laundry line in the shower or to keep towels from blowing away on the deck. A sarong . . for a little blanket in the theater or on Deck 4. actually a sarong can have a LOT of uses on a trip. I also bring "Halloween Candy" - not necessarily Halloween but a bag of those snack size Snickers (for instance) and I leave them in a bowl in my cabin - I tell the room stewards to help themselves and add one to the tip for room service. I know . . . but who doesn't need more chocolate???

(Putting ice cream in one of those tumblers is a cool idea although I'd transfer it after first putting it in the paper bowls . . more sanitary? But great idea!)

I forgot - CARDBOARD! Just a couple pieces of not too think cardboard for squeaks and rattles. I now remember there was an A/C vent and the verandah door, both rattled when there were waves. Also vaguely remember a squeak in between two ceiling tiles? Anyway, just a quick fix with some folded up cardboard. Even cardstock folded over a few times would work.

Nothing was broken, but it's s big ship and some components have flex built into the design. My cardboard fixes weren't much bigger than a playing card. You know, some nights there's the one thing that keeps you awake. . . .

Yes, some first aid items (mostly motion sickness) is available at the main desk, but if you have anything else (tummy troubles, temperature, etc.) you run the risk the medical team will be notified for a follow up. Quarantine?

I had no trouble getting Advil for my headaches and bandaids for my blisters. I saw the kit and it had tons of things. Also, OP asked for "fun" things to pack. :shrugs:

If you don't have any, we've found that folding up those DVC advertising cards that always seem to be around works really well to stuff in the cracks..

We have a tiny Stitch that has a clip on the top we got at WDW. We clip him to one of the shelves in the main cabin-he makes every trip with us-just to cause some trouble! LOL Maybe something your DD would enjoy-have fun!

We packed glow sticks from the dollar store for pirate night
We pack these also. They are so cheap and we have just one daughter so we normally get a larger package and hand out the extras to the kids around us.

We bring extra suncreen if we are not in concierge. We also bring a sound machine that runs on batteries so we can have some ocean noise in our room to drowned out any other noise we might here. An extra card for the light switch slot if we are on the dream or fantasy. Insulated tumbler WITH reusable straw so we dont have to use plastic straws (have heard DCL going to paper straws on some cruises). Also a few gallon sized zip bags to bring home anything that might be wet or need to be segregated from everything else.

Some will think we are crazy but we pack our fish extender and an assortment of little gifts that we can load it with for our daughter. It gives her the illusion that she is getting extender gifts from others on the boat but it is really us. She gets some specific goodies that we know she will like and we dont have to provide gifts for 10-15 other cabins. She cant wait to go check her "pocket" every time we are going back to the room.
