Today we went to Epcot, and we got to see the new Epcot sign up above spaceship Earth. It's cool, but Gael and I both liked the 2000 better, but I suppose Disney doesn't want to date itself like that. They had something still there that they really couldn't hide with the standard Disney 'we're refurbishing for your future enjoyment' walls - a big huge crane. Obviously the crane they used to update the sign - I'd like to see how they get that thing in and out of there. It was huge.
We stopped to see our legacy plates and took pictures. I took a picture of the Cast Member who I traded with when we first came into Epcot - she was pretty funny. We even took pictures of where Mom and Dad Fulcer's picture will be - right up in the front on the left. It's two tiles away from ours, so it's pretty cool.
This morning we had a late start and didn't make it to Epcot till almost 10:45. I had scheduled to meet some friends from the DIS boards at the Boardwalk so we walked through Epcot and to the Boardwalk resort and waited outside the Big River Brewery. We took some silly pictures of Brittany making faces like the faces in one of the stores. We stopped to see if our DVC vacation guide was in, but she wasn't. We'll have to stop and see her next trip. My friends didn't show up, so we ate and went back into Epcot after lunch.
We spent some time walking around the lands, looking for the face mask fun stops for kids. We were disappointed that a bunch of them were closed, but we at least made our way halfway around the world showcase and added stuff to the masks. I took a picture of one CM who helped Brittany. She was wearing a back brace and I felt for her and the discomfort she was going through. Having my neck in a brace for 6 weeks gave me a better understanding of people having to wear immobilization gear. Mommy and Brittany hop skotched their way on some squares someone drew in the street.
Back at the front of Epcot, we made our way through Mouse Gears, one of mommy's favorite shops. I took some pictures of a cool metal mickey sculpture that little metal balls rolled around in. It reminded me of a place we visited a long time ago down by Uncle David's house when we were kids that had a similar type sculpture. Hopefully uncle Jack might see the pictures and get that creative bug to make one for me.
We visited Ice station cool, Kodak Imagination Station (sent some cool emails) and also saw some weird performers like butterflies from Mad Max in back of Innoventions.
We got to meet the character bus then, but caught the tail end of it so only got two pics and signatures. We were really disappointed at the lack of characters at Epcot that we remembered from our last trip. This new bus, which didn't make it's scheduled stop in Japan, doesn't seem to allow character greets like they were when they were in the lands in the World Showcase.
We walked back just past China and got some ice cream and waited for Tapestry of Nations, which I thought was done, but was still there. Unfortunately for you, this parade was one where I honed my nighttime digital image skills so there are a bunch of pictures that aren't really the greatest and a couple where I took a few exposures to test something. I took more pictures than what I might normally do also, mainly cause the TON is going away.
On the way out we happened across a mexican dance of some sort out in front of Mexico. We watched for while, but mommy started feeling yucky, so we left and went back to our Villa. Another perfect Disney Day.
