Is Fudge a seasonal treat for you?
I don't know why but it always seem such a "Christmas" thing to make fudge.

Is it at your house? Or when do you make your fudge?

(Brought on by an intense craving for fudge, which I made tonight- Peanut Butter and Chocolate)

DH thought I was crazy when I whipped out the Marshmallow Creme. Apparently, he has never had fudge with marshmallow creme. He is in for such a treat! :goodvibes

I make fudge every once every year. At Christmas time!!!! WOOO!!! :cool1: me and my mom make it and it's one of my personal favorites

Thanks alot, Piecy!:headache: Now I am totally craving some fudge.
I love fudge and the only time I get to have it is when I go to an amusement park (or place an order with someone who is going).
Watching the fudgemakers make fudge, I thought it was too difficult to make at home. But, you guys are making it sound like something I could actually pull off.

Peanut butter chocolate is my favorite...please:worship: share your recipe.

We owned our own candy company and made copper kettle fulls of home made fudge. MMmmmmm... yea ~fudge~ - a huge weakness of mine.

Fudge in general is a year-round craving of mine, but come the Holidays I miss the old mincemeat and pistachio fudge flavors we'd make. They just don't come out the same on a home stove in a small pot without the marble countertop .... *sigh* ... and the recipes are lost now... why bother.

BTW - my teeth got to the point where they hated fudge ... shooting pain by just placing a piece near them LOL... they seem to have recovered well after a 12 year abstinence.

Now I want Christmas and Penuche Fudge (Brown Sugar like). YUMMMMMM:love:

Christmas is usually the only time I make fudge but once in awhile I can be persuaded to make it in February/March. It has to be cold weather out. Not a hot weather treat.

I usually just buy fudge from Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory. I need a whole pan of fudge in my house, like I need to gain 10 pounds.

Mixed together or layered peanut butter and chocolate?

If mixed together, I'd do:
3 cups sugar
2/3 cup Evaporated Milk
3/4 Cup butter/margarine
Bring to a rolling boil, reduce to medium for 5 minutes.
Then add
1 bag (12 ounce) of the Nestle Peanut Butter/Chocolate Chips
1 jar 7 ounce Marshmallow Creme
1 tsp Vanilla

pour in a pan and let it cool.

I can't wait to cut the stuff up here soon!! :rotfl:

Christmas is when I usually make it,but now I have a craving for it...looks like I'll be stopping at the store for the fixings on the way home from work tomorrow. It is real easy if you use the marshmallow creme.

Oh I forgot I have one of those right at the corner of my street, I can walk there! maybe I'll just stop in there and skip making it. Thanks for the reminder about that place.

We always make fudge for Christmas!! I'm so excited. :santa:

This is funny: last Christmas, DS & his then-fiancee made cookies and fudge for many of the people they work with. They got rave reviews, especially on the fudge. So when it came time to decide on "favors" for their wedding, they decided to make "their" fudge and include the recipe. Of course, the recipe is from the back of the Kraft marshmallow cream. So the "recipe" said something along the line of: "go to the grocery store, find the baking goods aisle, find the jar of marshmallow cream, follow the recipe on the back of that jar"!

The favors were cute - two pieces in a little cardboard box, with their initials and the date of their wedding.

Definitely, a holiday thing. I make 2 batches for our party, 2 for the fire station, and 1 for the family Christmas Eve.

Oh NO! Fudge! Another reason I will be buying bigger pants:sad2:

I love making fudge at Christmas. I use the TollHouse cookie recipe. Love it!!

However, we buy a lot of fudge in the summer when we go up to Mackinac Island. :)

I make fudge and pennucci at Christmas using my grandmother's recipe. I made sure to have her teach me how to do it before she passed away. It's the old-fashioned recipe where you have to beat the fudge for what seems like hours before you pour it in the pan. We also always have fudge in the summer. I swear, those candy stores at seaside tourist destinations just seem to make it better than anyone else.

I love making this fudge for christmas & I always add some to all the cookie tray I make!

This makes a huge pan, enough to share with family & friends!

BAILEY'S IRISH CREAM FUDGE

4 & 1/2 cups Sugar
1 (12oz) can Evaporated Milk
1/2 pound Butter
2 (12oz) packages Milk Chocolate Chips
1 (12oz) package Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
2 (7oz) jars Marshmellow Creme
2 teaspoons Vanilla
2/3 cup Bailey's Irish Cream
2 cups chopped Nuts

Follow directions EXACTLY!

Set all chocolate chips, marshmellow creme, vanilla, Bailey's & nuts in a very large bowl. Set aside for later.
Bring butter, sugar & milk to a boil & then cook slowly for exactly 11 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour milk mixture over the other ingredients & stir slowly to blend. Do not use a mixer.
Pour into a buttered 10 x 15 inch pan & chill very well.
Cut & enjoy!

am i the only person who didn't think of candy? i thought of one of my fav movies...

"only I didn't say "fudge." i said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "f-dash-dash-dash" word!"

i'm such a dork...
