Ft Wilderness reservation site selection?

Was looking at the Disney reservation page for Ft Wilderness, a bit confused. I thought I had read previously on this forum that folks could select a loop and or site when making a reservation. All I'm seeing on their pages are checkin/out dates and # of people input, and type of site (tent, fhu, etc), nothing about a loop/site selection, or even a description of which loops have what. Very much like a hotel reservation. Am I missing something? Wanted to see what was available in maybe March or April of this year. Thanks in Advance.

There use to be an option to add a loop preference after you booked your stay. I think this was an option at the early check in stage, but no longer available. Never was there an option to specify an exact site, nor to see which sites are available.

Sorry. That would be nice though.

Correct, this portion of the selection was involved in the early check-in portion of the reservation as it got closer. However, from all reports here it has since been removed.

I think you can request to be near the stairs though...

Last week I had to call to make a reservation because I couldn't get beyond a certain page when trying to book online. The CM asked if I had a loop preference and said that they're no longer putting that option online, but it IS an option you can request if you call. Are they trying to get people to use the phone when booking? I would think it would be the opposite. He did say it was listed as a request, but they couldn't promise availability. Now whether or not we'll get our "hopeful request"........

We've never had the ability to reserve or request a specific site - only to request a specific loop.

Whether online or not, I think you are still better to call to make sure your loop request is added to your reservations is prudent. (Whether they have a special "Field" for it in their system or if it's in the "comments"). Regardless if we book online or not, DW always follows up with a phone conversation at one point to make sure everything is okay.

Yes, you can still request a loop. Just call the reservation line and they will note it. I have stayed Oct, Nov and Dec and called the same day I do online check in and have got the requested loop each time. Good luck and happy camping.

I just called and requested 1600 for our up coming trip. An elevator would be nice if they had tree houses for rent.

1) But, you would then have to wait your turn for the "lift", as the squirrels would hog the elevators.
2) Why climb or jump when you can be lifted?
