Ft. Sill Ok

My DH will be stationed at Ft. Sill and we'll be moving there mid-April. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Good areas to live; places to stay away from weather, bugs/snakes... TIA!

Welcome!

Generally, you want to live either on the very far west end or east end of town. I would avoid anything in the middle if at all possilbe if you are going to live off post.

There are TONS of places to eat, and not very many places to shop.

The weather is very hot from May to early October. The winters are generally not bad, but the wind is very strong. I like to call OK the "bad hair day state".

There are a lot of spiders, so you will want to spray monthly or have someone else come in and do it.

There are some very nice smaller communities around Lawton, and they are worth looking into if you want to live off post.
