So yesterday I was almost ready to scrap my plans to go to DLP. I just wondered if it would be a waste of time and money. Since I love WDW so much, would I be constantly comparing DLP to that, would I enjoy the park considering I do not speak any French etc. etc. I had a thousand concerns, and I think I am feeling pressure because if I am going to go to DLP, it has to be booked soon, as I will be in London right before that and have to decide where I am going to go from London.

Anyway, DH went to the library and picked me up a copy of the Unofficial guide to Disneyland Paris. I skimmed over the book last night, and suddenly I am excited again! It has calmed some of my fears.

Now this morning, I go to the official website and it is all wonky. Yesterday, it seemed like the pricing was the best from the UK site. I tried the UK, Ireland and North American website LOL. I really need to stick to a strick budget if I want to fit in this trip. I didn't try the French website, as I could not understand what's going on there. Anyway today, the official site, once I go enter my details, it switches over to French. I tried using a different browser and I got a 404 error msg. Is this normal for the website? Does it go down quite often?

If when you try the US site it's going straight to the French site you have to clear your cache and cookies.

It's doing that because your pc has kept that site in it's memory.

If you want to go to the French site to see the prices go to the IDF one as it's the local one - but you are only going to see it in French and you will have to run t through a translator like Google.

What exact dates are you looking at and for how many people (2 adults/2 children so 1 under 7 ?) I'm sure we can all look at our local sites for you :)

Thank you very much! I had cleared my cookies before doing this but not the cache (? don't know where this is LOL) so maybe I messed something up there. I'll have to go back in and take a peek.

I am hoping to travel May 11th for 3 nights, unless it is not much more I can do May 10th for 4 nights. (I won't be able to get there until dinnertime on the 10th) The other day when I looked I thought that it was 40% off stays of 4 days or longer would be eligible at Cheyenne or Sequoia but it was only showing up as a 25% discount. I don't know I should call instead?

We are 2 adults, a 7 year old and a 12 yr old.

Thanks again, I am enjoying reading everyone's posts and trip reports.

Actually Carrie_Cat, I just read all your comments of Earl of Sandwich and thorougly enjoyed. It's one of our favourite counter service at WDW!

Sorry I think the cache could be temp files in English :confused3

If I look at the French Disney one I have

- The Sequoia Lodge at 1017.99 € for 3 nights/4 days in the park for 2 adults and 2 children starting on the 11th of May with room/breakfast and park tickets

- The Cheyenne at 828€ for 3 nights/4 days in the park for 2 adults and 2 children starting on the 11th of May with room/breakfast and park tickets

It says that this price includes 2 free nights and the under 12 is free

And for 4 nights/5 days in the park for 2 adults and 2 children starting on the 10th of May with room/breakfast and park tickets it's 1002€ for the Cheyenne and 1137.99€ for the Sequoia.

Hth and if you want anymore prices just let me know ;)

Thank you for the EoS :goodvibes I think it's a great place and always stop in to get a coffee before going into the park

Hi,

I've just checked the UK website for you:

Cheyenne for 3 nights, from 11 May = £899.25 (includes 25% discount)
Cheyenne for 4 nights, from 10 May = £1026.75 (includes 25% discount)

Sequoia Lodge for 3 nights, from 11 May = £1025.25 (includes 25% discount)
Sequoia Lodge for 4 nights, from 10 May = £1117.50 (includes 25% discount)

Newport Bay for 3 nights, from 11 May = £899.40 (includes 40% discount)
Newport Bay for 4 nights, from 10 May = £973.20 (includes 40% discount)

Looks like Newport Bay is best value, as seems to have 40% off :thumbsup2

I keep going to between worried and excited for our upcoming trip.

I posted a similar thread over on the UK WDW board.

What you have to do is just try and keep DLRP and WDW separate in your head.

I think if you compared to two during your trip to DLRP then you'd be dissappointed, as it's not on the same level as WDW.

But....

I'd much rather visit dlrp than not visit, and it's shows and parades are unique, and the rides at are there are just as good (if not better in the case of Space Mountain, BTM and PotC)

Also you'll get to see Dreams, which looks to be a mix of Fantasmic and Magic, Memories & You. So that'll be an experience. :)

You'll have a fun time and you can eat Earl!!!

And WDW is always going to be thee for us to return to. :goodvibes:

totally agree

don't try and compare

just appreciate the differences

I was totally surprised to hear 'dancin' a catch rhythm, singin' a happy song' playing at WDW last month before the parade ... and I was singing and dancing along (The only one in the park it would seem!) and I remembered how much I can enjoy myself at DLP ... so we're going back :)
