Frozen standby?

I'm confused... I could've sworn I read, a couple of times, that the Frozen return pass replaced the standby line entirely but mousewait still seems to show a wait time?

First, guests have reported that they end up waiting 30-40 minutes when they use their return time. Also, mousewait is user submitted. As long as they keep it as an attraction in the app, anyone can submit a wait time for it, accurate or not.

The reason for my question is that my original plan was to head straight for frozen (standby line) on the last day of our trip, at rope drop. It is a Monday (non EMH) and an MHP day. But we have to leave the park at 1:30 that day so if there is no longer a standby line I'm taking the chance our return pass time would be to late and we'd miss out entirely.

We were there last weekend, and people were being turned away and told that there was no standby.

If this greet is a priority, I would not leave it to the last day when you need leave early. I would attempt to get a return time on another day and leave the last day as a backup.

Ok then I guess I will have to plan for it Saturday, our MM morning. I appreciate all the input :)

We were just there on Friday for the M&G. It was not a MM for DL and they did not even open the turnstiles until exactly 8 for park opening. No rope drop and no pre line up for the M&G. Just a mad daddy dash from the gate all the way through the castle to the M&G area. The first 40 got in line and they immediately started the line for return passes.

Keep your original plan. Go to the line as soon as you enter the gates. If you were planning on being their for rope drop, just go to the Frozen waiting area/line and they will either escort you to the line (if you are the first 20 or so guests) or to the Return Ticket distribution line. Either way, I do not see your return time being after 1pm.

We went Saturday with our MM, in the park around 7:20, lining up a few minutes after that. I had time then to do a coffee run while Mrs McN waited in the line. Took close to 30 minutes and our return time was 10:40.

We were a few minutes early at our return time. We weren't allowed through but it did mean we were first in for the 10:40 bunch. There were LOTS of people coming up asking CMs how to see them and were all disappointed to find out they had missed out.

If this is a priority for you then definitely plan for it - We are AP holders and I went yesterday with my 6yo specifically to do this. We were at the gates by 7:30am (it was not a MM or EMH). Once the gates opened (7:45ish) there were many people dashing to the queue for Frozen. Once in the queue a CM asked if we had our entire party or if we wanted a return ticket. The CM then walked us through the castle and over to the Frozen meet and greet. There were many CMs in place to make sure that the line stayed orderly - I almost wish that they started the queue at a point earlier in the park to keep the mad dashing under control.

At that point they took the first 40 of us who were ready to see A&E and walked us in the queue (Olaf was still snoring on the roof and it was really cute to watch him wake up). Everyone else (and the line was quite long at that point) was then in line for return tickets. Many people were coming up to the line from rope drop and were very disappointed with how long the line was.

After experiencing this it is very clear why the return tickets are disappearing as quickly as they are. It has to be very frustrating for people wanting to do this and are entering the park at the regular opening on a morning with either MM or EMH.

Good luck :)

We were there this morning for the MM. We actually ignored the line for the first 40 plus minutes because we needed a return time after 1. I think we were in line for about ten minutes to get the passes and then when we stood in line it took us about twenty to get in and meet A and E. We got between 1:50 and 2:10.

The passes must have been gone not long after the MM though so if it is an early entry day, good luck.

Just curious. If we plan to be in the park all day and don't mind a later return time, is it advisable to just skip the rope drop madness and line up about 20 minutes later for a return pass? Maybe go ride Dumbo then get in line? Or is that taking a chance of not getting one?

Is there a good thread that explains the Frozen process. We'll now be there Dec 24 so I wanted to make sure I've got the process down as I'm sure my 4yo will be really wanting to see A&E.

I was able to get FP's for the Frozen M&G back in September by showing up about 40 minutes after the park open. That was on a weekday when the park opened at 10am to 8pm. My return time was like 6 hours (4:10 to 4:30pm) after we got the FP's at 10:40am. If you don't get in the queue before or right around the rope drop time, the wait time will be for later that day. I would say the FP's would be gone about an hour to hour and a half when it opens.

Thanks Bret! That's encouraging. I appreciate you sharing your recent experience. :)
