Just wonder if anyone has been on this ride what your experiences were.

I asked quite a while ago and they said the boats were still the same from when it was Maelstrom. Last time I had a real problem getting in and out of the boat between balance issues, knees etc.

We are going in about 2 weeks and I know our ds will want to ride this but I dont know if I should try t again.

Any info/experiences, TIA.

It is exactly the same boat as Maelstrom. I didn't notice that the platform had changed at all either. You have to step up and then step down. A CM may be able to offer a hand if that would help.

CMs are not allowed to help, but they will hold the boat in the loading and unloading area as long as you need to get in. My son injured his knee while we where there and he had a hard time climbing out. My husband was able to pull him out.
Unfortunately if you had a hard time on Maelstrom I think you will have a hard time on frozen :guilty:

CMs can offer a hand as they don't consider it helping. Of course all CMs aren't required to do it. The policy says if the CM feels comfortable and it isn't full weight bearing or anything. I saw them help someone who was blind steady himself by offering a hand but they aren't allowed to bear any weight. So not much help if someone's issue is actually bearing weight but if you are wobbly then they are with in policy to offer assistance. It is better than the old policy where you couldn't do anything even if you felt 100% comfortable offering the assistance.

This is a previous thread about Frozen Ever After with some pictures. The ride boats are the same as previously.
The load and unload areas were changed to make a little more room for transferring.

We are going to Disney World in a few weeks and are planning on trying it with our daughter. We had not been able to get her into maelstrom for quite a few years; it was too high of a lift over the side of the boat. We are going to try if the extra room in the boarding area make it easier.

I will post what we find out after we get back.

Yes CM can offer to help you by giving you there hand to hep stable you if they feel like they can. I have gone a few times where I hurt my foot I am small 5 foot about 115 pounds and the Cm would do this ( when getting in and out of space moutian ) but never helped my friend ( who is much bigger then me at 5'2 175pounds ) but I would not expect this and if the CM dose this say thank you, as it is up to each CM.

if you had a hard time on the old ride I would think you would have have a hard time on this one as the ride vehicle is the same.

1) Correct.
2) To save money, they did not change or alter the precious Maelstrom boats.
3) Since the ride did not officialy change, they were no required to provide ADA access.
4) So, they didn't.
5) And, yes, it still has a deep step-down into the boat (like POTC).

I drove my ECV right onto the 'dock', parked on the side and walked to the boat. As I can't bend my knees beyond 90° I step onto the seat first, holding the back of the seat in front and then down into the well. I get out in the same way.
