I know Frozen has a tentative open date of 5/1 but that's not guaranteed. What is Disney's policy on FP+ for new/refurb'ed attractions? Will they allow FP+ bookings at any time prior to 5/1? I could see World Showcase being a madhouse regardless and can foresee a huge bottleneck near the Mexico pavilion if they keep the opening time at 11.

The policy is "it happens when it happens".

The truth is not many new things have opened since FP+ started. Just know that they are not going to issue any FPs until they are absolutely certain it's going to be available.

And I personally think 5/1 would be very optimistic.

The May 1st date is not even close to official. It is being used as a place holder date for many websites... now they seem to be copying each other. I wouldn't count on that date in any way.

While no one knows, it is likely that once it is open, or a date has been officially set to start accepting FP+, all dates in the next 60 days will become available at the same time. For some that means they will only get 1 day to try to grab a fastpass, for others it will mean close to their normal window... and of course re-arranging existing fastpasses to make it fit. It will most likely be 1 night of chaos, but it will effect a relativly small number of people, and in reality there isn't much else they can do without it becoming even more complicated. I would keep a close watch on these forums, because its also unlikely that Disney would announce such things in a public way that you would be able to easily find.

While its true that few, if any(?!?) attractions have opened in the FP+ era, there have been several restaurants, and this is how they handle ADRs. I can't imagine it would be any different.

7DMT opened in the FP+ era. Official opening date was announced less than 30 days out and that night I was able to book FP+ for the opening day. 30 and 60 day availability were out the window. I would expect this to follow suit. When they are sure it's going to open, they will do a official announcement (7DMT was on YouTube before park opening one day with characters) giving the date, FP+ will probably open for that official opening date forward. As with 7DMT I would expect soft openings off and on between those two dates.

That said I would push that A&E ride back. In December they were already pushing to May 21 at CM meetings. Who knows where they are at now. Maybe sped up, likely further behind. Personally my guess would be to try their best to open for Memorial Day weekend but 7DMT opened the week after Memorial Day weekend so maybe crowded times are not the best time.
