Frontier

Wondering if I can micro-pack. I will be only staying 2 nights

Easily. I've stayed for 3-4 nights and only took a bag that went under the seat. I got those tiny bottles for carry on for all my shampoo, conditioner, makeup, lotions, etc. You'd be surprised what you can fit in a bag that goes under the seat.

I think I will go for it. If I end up needing something I don't have, replacements will still be cheaper than the fees.

We've flown across the country 3x now with them. They cancelled a flight and switched it to a red eye with a connection...i.e. Worst flight possible. When I called to change to the only other option, a nonstop red eye the customer service agent in India took forever and acted like they were doing me a huge favor even though it's their policy to waive change fees for cancelled flights. Their customer service has sucked every time I've had to call. You get what you pay for so as long as you expect that it's fine. Tiny tiny seats on some legs. I'm only 5'4" 130#, and it felt tight so not sure how a larger person would feel!

Yah I suppose I ASSumed they were in India since in 3+ calls I've only talked to people with Indian accents and there is the lag time that happens with overseas calls, but maybe I've just gotten lucky.

The airport folks in SF were rude but in Knoxville and Denver they were nice.

We have flown with them for two trips and have another trip lined up. I can understand how a cancelled flight can cause issues when they only do one flight a day. All those people would need to be moved to future flights that are already close to full. Future flights may be the next day or next week. In our area, they fly out of CVG and CMH. We booked our next flight out of CLE for our next flight. The drive is a little further, but it was the only non stop to CUN that they flew within a reasonable drive from where we are.

Hello! Just coming across this thread as I look for cheaper and earlier flights for June. There is one flight the day I want to go, and now I am nervous it will be cancelled. A few questions: 1- if they cancel it but move me to a flight the next day, will they refund me the entire cost of the flight? (not in miles or vouchers but in cash?) 2- I was looking into Trenton Airport which is about an hour from the airport in Philly. Philly airport has more flights, although they are more money. If they cancel my flight, would I be able to book a Philly flight instead since both airports are close?

The Trenton flights seem to be pretty reliable. I fly out of Trenton or PHL to Orlando and asked around a lot before using them. It doesn't seem like cancellation is as big of a thing from Trenton as it can be from other small airports. They also group some airports to be considered the same airport for purposes of changes. Laguardia, Trenton, and PHL are grouped together so you shouldn't have a problem making a change between them if need be.

I haven't had a flight cancelled, but according to their website if a flight is cancelled for a reason out of their control (weather) they don't issue any refund/credit but will accommodate you on another flight. If it's something in their control (mechanical issue) they will issue a full refund upon request. By their wording of refund and not credit I assume that means they will issue you a check or credit card refund.

We booked Frontier for our trip next week. We usually fly Southwest. We did pay for assigned seats so my question is: do we have to check in 24 hours ahead or just when we get to the airport? Thanks!

If you paid for your seats you don't have to check in ahead of time. If you are taking any checked bags or carry on (aside from the free personal item) you may want to pay for them in advance and check in online. It definitely costs more at the gate but not sure about the desk.

We'll be flying frontier in June with an infant. Will we have any problem fitting a car seat (rear facing) in the smaller seats? Also, is there a charge to gate check a stroller?

What kind of carseat will you be using? As for the stroller no, there is no charge to gate check. You can check both a stroller and a car seat at the gate without a fee.

Ok, great. The carseat is a chicco keyfit carrier.
