WOW! Just saw a post that Frontier Airlines will begin flying out of Trenton. Great news for us NJ people in between Philly and Newark. They are posting fares of 69$ each way. I already booked with miles for our trip, but I wish I could use this deal!! Negative is the flights are only twice a week for now...Mon and Friday.

Just thought I would post for those of you still looking for a good holiday air rate for Christmas time.

I think this will make me go to disney much more often!!

Great news, but not only are the flights only twice a week, the times are not optimum. 4 pm going down to WDW, and 7:25am coming back. You sort of lose both those days. Looks like Mondays and Fridays.

That said, it came up as $68 each way for my March trip dates. But changing my hotel to add dates to fit this schedule, would cost more than I would save.

Maybe they will add more times with more interest in flying there???:confused3

It certainly would be so much easier than traveling down to philly.
And with those prices, it will make it easier to get to the happiest place on earth! :thumbsup2

We'll just have to wait and see ....:surfweb:

I think the times vary..I pulled up a search and the times were decent...coming home was early in the am. But with the super low prices, convenience factor, and no huge parking bill..I could just about stay an extra few nights!

I am excited for the day I just book a last minute cheap flight out and grab my daughter from school and head down for a few days!

We are thinking about doing this...the prices are good to book through Aug 11. We got $550 for 4 RT tickets in Feb. 10:30 depart on Fri and 12:55 on Monday....not bad times! Decisions, decisions!

There is alsp a 10% Promo Code FLY10 which expires today Aug 10th. Tried it and works in Jan 2013.

Frontier: Take 10% off any domestic fare and be among the first to take advantage of our extended schedule. Use promo code FLY10 to book your winter getaway NOW. Buy by 8/10. Travel 1/7-3/17/13.

I am so tempted by this but what happens if there are mechanical problems/cancellations,etc? Are you just out of luck? They wouldn't be flying another route and presumably they wouldn't have other planes they could switch you over to at the Trenton airport. It's the only thing that worries me and is stopping me from jumping on the great intro fares.

If frontier cancels the flight or delays it more than 3 hours they can put you on another airline. They have partnerships with us airways, united, and american. I used to work for frontier.

However they are the only commercial airline at that airport. Maybe they could get you a flight out of Philly or Newark but then you have a transportation nightmare to deal with.

I was sooo excited about this... but yes, that is my concern... if mechanical issue, flight cancellation, etc.... isn't like there is another flight to put you on, and not any other airlines flying out of there to MCO. so THEN what do you do?
That's a big concern for me. And we've had issues in the past where flight cancelled and they had to put us on something else... a pain in the butt... but at least able to be done. Not sure what happens with Frontier in Trenton.
Would hate to be booked flying down on a Monday... flight cancelled and then what? Scramble to get seats at $$$$$$ right then that day last minute out of Philly for my family to get to Disney?
Eh, too risky for me.
Shame... as we live oh, 7 minutes from Trenton/Mercer Airport!

I, too, had seen this information about frontier and immediately went to their website to check it out. Of course, they have not opened their schedule to include late march or early april flights. (Sigh. So frustrating.I've never had to deal with the "discount carriers" who wait so long to release these dates. And after this year I hope to never do it again. Not worth the aggravation.) But I digress. While they did offer those incredible rates for a few days, their prices as they stand right now are not worth jumping up and down over. I've been comparing their prices for early march with other airlines, and they aren't the lowest I've seen. Not by a long shot. I'm beginning to think there is no such thing as a "discount carrier."

First JetBlue. Now Frontier. Just waiting for Southwest to release their Easter week prices to confirm my theory. :-)

If their prices were unbeatable, I would absolutely consider flying Frontier out of Trenton. But I'm not going to roll the dice there AND pay the same price as I would out of a more reliable airport. Sorry, Frontier. No money from these fliers! :-)

I just saw this too. Very exciting if we can save money and save the drive down to Philly. We don't have any trips planned yet for the spring, but maybe a long weekend can be justified???
