Having fun on the home made slip'n'slide. My son is the skinny one facing the camera!

Can you bring that on the Cruise? I'm sure we can set it up somewhere on the ship.

Lynne--That is so cute; but where is my favorite Miss Ariel and Mr. Goofy for Tony. :confused3:rotfl2:
Are you home from vacation; how did the folks do?

Were you dressed as Ariel?

I don't remember any green legs on you Halloween night. Perhaps you were in the water most of the time. But of course I'll make you a special sign. The Alice picture came in an email from Disney with special pricing on hotels.

...Vacation was good. Change of scenery, not much change of pace. Dad is slow - crooked spine, arthritic joints. More dependent on his Hugo rolling walker. It allows him not to have to be constantly worrying about swaying and tipping over.

We had rain, sun, cool and cold. But we also had an oceanfront condo looking at/hearing the Atlantic Ocean and the people and dogs walking along it - that kept him occupied.

My DB and SIL's three-night visit from Boston was especially nice. I have seen them this year more than any other in their nearly 20 years of marriage. They will be with me next month for our 3-week Hawaiian Islands adventure (Dad will stay home - my sister is just 2 blocks away).

Lots of restaurants in Hilton Head - over 200. Huntsville only has about 100 (mainly chains) but a year-round population nearly 6x as many. We had some fun and tasty meals.

Nice to hear your boys have been in town visiting over the holidays. Did they have fun in Australia with Tony?

...Are you on both the Med and the EB TA?

...
Linda, you'll like this one...We went to Mal's father's family Kris Kringle on the weekend. ...
Firing up the "towable" BBQ...

Could you throw some shrimp on the barbie for us?

What is a Kris Kringle? (I know who he is, but is this a specified celebration?)

Lynne

Hello all! Haven't been around much on this thread, been busy finalising our med cruise and going to Christmas parties!

Linda, you'll like this one...We went to Mal's father's family Kris Kringle on the weekend. There were 58 Albanys running around! It was good fun but very tiring. Thought I'd share some photos

NOw THAT's a barbie! Dang! You guys know how to throw a party!

:confused3 The family name is Albany?

AuntieLynne, glad you had a good vacation!

hehehe...if you're in Australia, you have to say "prawns"! A kris kringle is similar to a secret santa where each person is allocated another person to buy a gift for. That was how the family christmas started but its now only presents for the children, but the term stuck.

Mal's cousin tows the BBQ along when they go diving and fishing!

Lynne, glad to hear you had nice trip.

Yes - go to the PC external website by TigFanJeff (link is in Post #1)

Thank you so much. I've book marked the site, but I consistently misread what that label said.

Oh dear, that being said, it might make for grim prospects for me to try and "school" anyone. ;-)

Of course, they needn't have originated here, although that was myf irst thought. There was a duke of Albany, in England. . . Well, by whatever name, that was still quite a party, lol.

Ours will be much smaller - 8 at table, and that's enough, it will be full. We're having king of crab dip, baked ham, scallop potato casserole, sprouts & carrots, cranberry waldorf salad with lemon mayonaise, and a choice of mud pie or pumpkin roll for dessert.

Mmmmmm, that sounds yummy! What is mud pie? I love the American pumpkin pie (prob not relevant here...)

The name Albany originated from Malta actually! And in turn before that was apparently Albani from Italy. His family are descendents of the knights of St John.

Hello all!! I just wanted to stop in and say hi. We have been very busy getting ready for Christmas! We are getting together with my family tomorrow night, then we leave for AZ Thursday morning to spend Christmas with all the kids and grandkids.
I hope those who celebrate have a very Merry Christmas!!!!

That should make the Malta stop on the Med cruise even more special.

GOOD THOUGHT! And what an opportunity!

Safe journey, disfanica! Happy holidays to you, too :)

Mudpie - this recipe has a chocolate cookie crumb crust, the bottom layer is dark chocolate pudding made extra dark with extra chocolate, and with nuts in it (and bourbon if you like). The next layer is chocolate pudding mixed with cool whip (synthetic whipped cream) which makes it lighter colored and fluffy, and the top is more cool whip. Totally NOT good for you, but chocoholics love it. :thumbsup2

Definitely! We have been in contact with long lost relatives and hopefully will get the chance to meet. Planning to go back for a longer period when the kids are older and can appreciate the history and ancestry a bit more.

Mmm...mmm..MMMM! Can I come for Christmas next year?!?! Will try to ditch the other 20 travelling companions...

Have a safe trip and a happy holiday!

As we're gearing towards Christmas day itself, I probably won't have time to come on the DISboards. So I wish you all a very merry Christmas! Hope you all have a fantastic time with family and friends.

It was worth a try. :rotfl::rotfl: Tony and I will be on Maui Jan. 16-23.

Almost ready to commit to the Med.

Tony and my son LOVED Australia and wanna go back.

Merry Christmas

Hi to everyone. Getting ready for my only day off of work tomorrow. Can't wait till Friday when I will make some serious money. I will be makeing three days worth of pay. Yipeeeee. That will help pay the cruise bills.

Man, I'm missing you by one day. We arrive Oahu Jan 17, then to Kauai on the 20th and Maui on the 24th. Would have been great to see you - but it won't be much longer until April 10.

I'm hoping that BUNCO will keep me away from the pricey BINGO for a few rounds - need to save up some money for when we have our complete table together to win all the rounds on the PC cruise.

Mele Kalikimaka,

Lynne
