Shoshie--Any current plans to be in the park mid-December? How was the WDW trip?

It was awesome! We crammed three parks into a day and a half! No lines for anything and we had some great magical moments at American Adventure (the CM had us call a special number and Mickey and Minnie wished us a happy anniversary). I also had a yummy PB&J milkshake at 50s Prime Time.

We'll be at the park for MouseAdventure and the day before.... so December 11 and 12!

Back for five....

good news: laundry rooms on the wonder now operate on the key to the world cards... no more change needed. :hippie:

I've never done laundry on the ship -- is it worth it?

The dryer's are big enough to fit two loads of wet stuff. Bring your own soap supplies. The machines were down last time I went. You can get single samples at Target/ Wal-mart in the sample selection or just put some in a plastic container from home. I use the dryer softner sheets when on a cruise. Don't take up much room and make suitcase smell good.

Yes, a few times as the luggage allowance not so genoerous for us socttish folks so kinda a must if we want to bring all the other stuff.

Sorry can't help on this one as my rule of thumb is no laundry while I am on vacation. I refuse to do chores when I am on vacation. I always pack enough clothes for the whole trip.
Good plan
did laundry on the magic = machines worked very well and dried the whole load in one go UNLIKE the villas at Wilderness lodge where I had to divide my one load between 3 driers and it STILL took 2 hours to dry even with no towels or jeans!

Now, I'm faced with finding a room mate - dh decided he'd rather stay home to ski. :(
What????? I am sure you will find a room mate, any plans ?
Hi everyone! I've been off for a over a week, I've checked in but haven't posted. We lost our beloved cat, Duchess Marie, a week ago Saturday. We decided a new kitten would help us heal and have been enjoying life with Chessie Beth. If you ever lose a pet, don't worry about getting a new one too quickly. It was the best thing for us. Chessie is an amazing bandage!

Anyway, welcome to all the new cruisers, looking forward to getting to know you all.
Thats so sad,:flower3: yes new furbabies, they are not a replacement but a distraction, is she shredding the wallpaper yet. Have you seen the clips of Simons cat(google it) its the funniest thing Ive seen for ages!!
So sorry to hear about your sweet Duchess Marie. Glad you are enjoying your new kitty Chessie Beth. We too lost our dog Rosie just last Friday night. Our other dog is so lost without her.

Welcome to Paula and Alan. We are booked on WBTA too. The PC trip is my hubby's retirement cruise BEFORE we find "fun" jobs. :yay:

O, I am so sorry, It is just so sad when you loose a pet, I deal with it ALL the time at work and after more than 10 years It still bothers me a lot, It is the folks I feel bad for mostly, not the pets cause they are obviously loved, but I am sure your other puppy is enjoying all the extra love and cuddles.:flower3:

Is he nuts? I'm so sorry :sad1:

Where skiing is concerned, oh yes, he is totally nuts. Obsessed with it. but hey, his passion, his joy. Not mine. Give me warm, travell, beach. He supports me in mine, I can't do any less for him.

The plan is to find a roomie, because I'M GOING! So, if anyone knows someone who'd love to go . . .

Hiya Irish cowboy, are you joing us?

Linda babe, I enjoy skiing, but not THAT much, I try to locum on my days off so I can go skiing, we are going to switzerland in jan, but I am working 13 straight nights to pay for it in december.

Darn, I am sorry to hear that Linda, I hope you can find a roomie. Tell Bruce that it's only 2 weeks and that January is the coldest time to ski, there may not be good snow yet, it could be icey, we will miss him, I am sure there are a few more excuses :rolleyes1 that we could come up with to change his mind :)

Ooops! I thought I included LindaBabe in my multi-quote!

I hope you find someone quick! I know you have to be supportive but still! Disney is more important :)

I hope you still plan on coming, even without a roommate..... I am cruising solo on this one, so don't hesitate to join me if you see me sitting alone.......

He LIVES to ski - where in CH are you going? He's skiied and we've hiked several mountains there. You'll have a GREAT time!

So far, he remains unmoved. He did say that he would go if I couldn't find a room mate, but honestly - his heart would be back in the frozen north, so it really be better if he stays there with it, lol.

Oh, I TOTALLY AGREE! But I understand obsessions because of that, and to him, SKIING is more important.

Ann, how are you dealing with the single person in the room issue? The cost seems quite exhorbitant for one person. . . although, now that I think about it, if I was independantly wealthy, I wouldn't bother with the room mate . . . There are plenty of folks to chum with once you get out of the room. I doubt you'll do much sitting alone, unless by choice :)

Rode the monorail today. I kept accosting young men in monorail uniform looking for Jeff. AFTER the fact, it occurred to me - I should have posted an inquiry here first. Oops.

Just hoping everyone has a good holiday. I will be working making double time and a half, and I need it. Againg, if anyone is at WD. Dec 8-11 let me know.

Grindelwald! Although I stayed at the hotel near the station - I want to say a suburb of Interlaken - the last tiny town - before the train divides to go half to Grindelwald and half to Lauterbrunen. Those were tough hikes for me - and I can't imagine skiing down those steep slopes. B spent new years 2000 skiing there and loved every minute of it.

Will you take the train to get there?

Well, I am definitely not independently wealthy; I'm still working, and when many of my contemporaries are retired and traveling throughout the year, I scrimp and save for my few weeks of Disney every year. And since there really is no way to avoid the single supplement that solo travelers face, I will just have to pay the price and then make myself forget about it!
And I'm happy to have discovered this boad, because I will definitely enjoy meeting some friendly faces along the way (yours included!)

Thanks to all for their thoughts! Goofprincess, you have my sympathies on the loss of Rosie. I hope your other puppy is better soon, maybe another little four-footed friend will help.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope your day is filled with lots of family, food and fun. Happy Thursday to those outside the US - may you have a great day as well.

I have not been around for some time - between the office and the back to back we just did on the Magic, I couldn't keep up but will now do my best to be here with you all.
