I would love to get to know all of you!
My poor DH groaned the other day, "You're going to bug us about Disney stuff for the next year, aren't you?"
Um yes, and then I'm going to try and make matching dresses for my dd and I!
Katherine
Oh yeah, and my name's Tammy. I hope to get to know you all well over the next year or so.
Hollywood, we went to hollywood the day after MJ died, not the brightest thing to do.Randy, I forgot to mention that we will have 2 small children with us. DD will be 2 and DS will be 3. We will be taking it slow and have nap time to deal with as well. Also, we were hoping to drive around Hollywood one afternoon or maybe do one or two other local "non-Disney" things.
I'm a little shy and didn't think I had anything to add, but I'm going to try and keep up with this thread until the cruise.
Cathy
welcome,Hello,
This is my first post on this site/forum. I have been a lurker for a while, but when I found this thread, I decided to join.![]()
My family and I are going on the PC cruise in Jan 2011. We are booked, deposit paid, and now we are just waiting.
We went on our first Disney cruise this past July (7 day western) and became completely hooked on Disney Cruises! We loved it so much that we booked our second cruise while we were on the ship (got the 10% discount and on board credit) and are going on our second cruise Jan 30. 2010 -7 day eastern). The PC cruise will be our 3rd Disney cruise.
We live in Seattle, WA, and DH and I have 2 boys.... currently age 8 (almost 9) and age 7. So, on the PC cruise, they will be 8 and 10. We are pulling them out of school for the 2 weeks, but we've already talked with the school, and they are supportive, and our boys are very excited about the idea of this cruise. So, all is in our favor. We'll have a test run of pulling them out of school in Jan 2010 when we do our 7-day Eastern cruise, and see how that goes, but I expect it'll be fine (they are currently 2nd and 3rd grade, so for the PC cruise, they will be 3rd and 4th grade).
We are so excited about this cruise, as going through the Panama Canal has been something on our list we've wanted to do. So, it's just a bonus we can do it with Disney. We love to travel as a family, so we are now hooked on doing a lot of our traveling with Disney Cruises! We have been on other ships, and the other ships, in our opinion, just do not compare to Disney in terms of the wholesome family environment, which we really like. Plus, we just felt it was top notch service!
Oh, and we are Cat. 9A on deck 7 for the PC cruise. Looking forward to being part of this thread.
I love to planAh, but you see, Linda and Tracy, if tomorrow were Jan 6, 2011 we would have already enjoyed all our vacations/holidays, paid for the cruise, and lost weight!
We'll be coming straight back to Texas after the cruise, no DL for us. I can't stand to be a way from from home and my precious Duchess cat for too long.
Welcome newbies!
Yes, you must report back here IMMEDIATELY with all the info about the Cove Cafe and Outlook bar renovations. With photos! That's your vacation assignment.

brilliantI couldn't sleep last night so I did some more playing with the graphic. Are there too many Mickey's? I might try to put the fab five on deck instead of just Mickey and Minnie. I'm still not real happy with the graphics on the lock walls but I got tired of googling.

Hi,
If you want to be added to the first post, please PM me your info. Welcome Aboard!
I have ziplined in Costa Rica and LOVED it. I am either thinking of this or white water rafting for Costa Rica. I wish DCL would announce so I would know if I need to contact independent vendors.
I think I called him ann, lolThe shark person? I don't know how to take that. J/K. It made me chukle. Glad to know it was not only me. I am sure Jeff can get the bugs out in due time. I am not in that big of a rush. Oh insted of shark person, if you lime, call me Alan. If not shark person works just fine.
good ideaThis brings up a good point. It would be helpful if people could put their "real" first name (or whatever they like to be called) in their signatures so we can learn what to call each other. As our group starts to grow, it can be kind of hard to keep track without printing out a cheat sheet of everyones DISboard names with their real names, or checking their profile every time.
Just a suggestion.![]()
Not sure I could repet what folks callme at work!Fish are our friends not food. Lol. I had to go there. Really Alan would be fine or as people call me at work AZ.
John and Sherrye here.. from West Virginia and Joisey.. though by the time the cruise comes around, who knows where we'll be from?
..and if I read this fine print correctly, we're located in 7124.
So... Hi Everybody!
yehaaaaaaBooooooooooooooooooo
Just a FYI it will be more than one night. I was thinking more like 15 nights.
I loved new york, but after being a few places in usa I have to admit I was shell shocked at the folks thereAbout New York, I have always wondered why people refer to going to the restroom as going to New York.
Hi All -- We are booked for this cruise. Whew, finally, only a one way flight! We'll probably join the FE and possibly the Secret Mickey. I'll see if my kids want to join the Teen group. I'll have a 13 and 15 year old then.. (wow, how sad).
Yes, we are it!
Carol~ Those look great.
I'm off to Disney tomorrow so I will be totally lost by the time I come back in a week![]()
We've been to Puerta Vallarta before and honestly, we weren't impressed. I've heard great things about Costa Rica so I'd rather have DH zipline in PV knowing that we won't miss anything else. I'm sure he'd love to go white water rafting in CR so I'll have to see if he wants to do that or do something more mellow with DD and I. I really want him to do what he wants to do on this trip as I'm very content just to spend time with DD on the ship or on a tour. I'm not as adventurous as him.
Sun-drenched Cabo San Lucas sits at the tip of the Baja peninsula and features dramatic rock landscapes, white-sand beaches and clear ocean waters. Along with water activities, it offers landlubbers such activities as golf, horseback riding and nature hikes. Luckily, prime whale-watching time is January through March.
ANYBODY know anything, where,what when?
Well, we just hit the 100th person on the list. And I know I'm still missing a bunch of people. Remember to PM or email me your info. Thanks.
Same here about Puerta Vallarta, we will stay on the ship that day. Now, we would love to do the river rafting in CR..
No, I booked mine through a different agency and specifically requested that Cat 7 "secret" verandah. (It's a 6 that they downgraded to a seven due to partial obstruction of the view.)
We'll have to see how many more 'Zonies' sign up and plan a meet sometime next year.
My cabin-mate (and former sister-in-law) and I are booked on the '10 WBTA and have decided to do this cruise instead, partially due to the cost of a one way flight to Spain. I'm excited about going through the canal again (and not sleeping most of that day away!) and hitting some new ports. I haven't cancelled the WBTA yet....just in case I win the lottery before final payment is due.
.
I'm glad it's not just us. I thought maybe we were being too critical because we had high expectations. I used to watch the Love Boat as a little girl and always wanted to go to Acapulco and Puerta Vallarta, I guess they had their hay-day but both were very disappointing to us. We were glad to see that DCL is not going back to Acapulco for the PC cruise. DD and I will stay on the ship in PV and DH can do the zip line, he will love that no matter what the scenery is.
