So the iphone fix broke internet explorer.....

But I think it's all good now.

I'm going to start throwing together a fish extender exchange list. I've already set the database up. Work is going to be a bit hectic for me over the next couple of weeks, so things might be a bit slow. We've got plenty of time though. :)

Good Morning, all!

THAT is Fabulous! It WOULD look great on T-shirts or doors - I am SO glad we have access to all these great designs! You are so CREATIVE!

Tinksmom (Tenya) volunteered to coordinate the joint fish gift for the international folks. PM Tinksmom for details

Has anyone started the schoolroom thread yet?

I love this too. I would be all over a schoolroom thread.

Thanks Jeff for all your work on the site. What an awesome group of people to travel with. We are so blessed.

Katherine

I'm the one who volunteered to coordinate a FE gift for those from around the globe. I've got a great idea if any of our international cruisers are interested PM me.

My PM has been sent. Thanks Tenya for offering to organise this for us, you're a star

I stand by Douglas Adams on this one.

"[Life] will even live in New York, though it's hard to know why. In the winter time the temperature falls well below the legal minimum, or rather it would do if anybody had the common sense to set a legal minimum. The last time anybody made a list of the top hundred character attributes of New Yorkers, common sense snuck in at number 79.

In the summer it's too darn hot. It's one thing to be the sort of life form that thrives on heat and finds, as the Frastrans do, that the temperature range between 40,000 and 40,004 is very equable, but it's quite another to be the sort of animal that has to wrap itself up in lots of other animals at one point in your planet's orbit, and then find, half an orbit later, that your skin's bubbling.

Spring is over-rated. A lot of the inhabitants of New York will honk on mightily about the pleasures of spring, but if they actually knew the first thing about the pleasures of spring they would know of at least five thousand nine hundred and eighty-three better places to spend it than New York, and that's just on the same latitude.

Fall, though, is the worst. Few things are worse than fall in New York. Some of the things that live in the lower intestines of rats would disagree, but most of the things that live in the lower intestines of rats are highly disagreeable anyway, so their opinion can and should be discounted. When it's fall in New York, the air smells as if someone's been frying goats in it, and if you are keen to breathe, the best plan is to open a window and stick your head in a building. "

Why love New York? consider it from a baseball perspective...

Lets say Boston has a generous million people (wikipedia lists the city as having ~600K). And lets say 100% are Red Sox fans (no straggling Braves fans left). If we set equal the number of Red Sox fans to the number of Yankees fans and Mets fans... then there are still 6 Million New Yorkers who are more interested in the Giants, Jets, Rangers, Islanders, Knicks, Cyclones... or going to the Met, AMNH, a musical, etc... etc...

The City is not for everyone... but there's a reason why it's known as 'The City', as well as why Mr. Sinatra didn't choose Poughkeepsie for the subject of his song (although it does rhyme with 'tipsy').

Alison posted a reply to Carly's teen thread and is anxiously hoping other teens will join in. She doesn't have a facebook and we've been pretty adamant that she has to wait until age 16, so she'll be out for that. She also doesn't have unlimited texting, so hopefully a few kids will make this their means of communicating about the cruise!

Hi Tracy
I will talk with Elizabeth tonight and set her up a name etc.. Elizabeth is glad to know there will be girls her age. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! :yay:

We have our spreadsheet all set up for Secret Mickey (Thanks LindaBabe! :worship:)

I know it's a long way away until the cruise but wanted to let you know you can start signing up. Here's how it will work. You can PM me your email address and I will send you the questionaire. I need to send you a questionaire for each person participating. Please notify me in your PM how many questionaires you need and you will get a separate email for each.
We will have an Adult Secret Mickey as well as a Youth Secret Mickey

What is a Secret Mickey? It's a fun way to leave and recieve little gifts during your cruise. You can leave the gifts in the FE (but make sure you have a little tag on it so they know it came from thier SM) or you can ask the room attendant to place it in thier room (we did that a lot). We will have a final reveal near the end of the cruise.

The total amount of the gifts should be in the $25.00 - $30.00 range including a reveal gift (it doesn't have to be a big gift - just something to say hi! It was me). If you are participating as a couple, I will try and match you with another couple. This total amount is then per couple - not per person. If you have a youth participating, I will do my best to match as close in age as possible.

So the total amount would be $25.00-$30.00 per Secret Mickey whether you are acting as a couple or an individual.

We will have our deadline for sign-ups abount this time next year to allow you enough time to find those perfect Secret Mickey gifts! You will be assigned a name and will be able to go to the spread sheet and get all the info you will need!

If you have any questions, let me know.

Hi All -- We are booked for this cruise. Whew, finally, only a one way flight! We'll probably join the FE and possibly the Secret Mickey. I'll see if my kids want to join the Teen group. I'll have a 13 and 15 year old then.. (wow, how sad :) ).

If there are any large groups going on this a good Idea would be to have someone organize a group rate for tours now, I was with a group on the Eastbound one last summer (not from the Dis) and someone from our group contacted the Zip line company in Puerto Vallarta two years before the cruise and secured a time slot before DCL could, a group from the Dis did this too and had the slot after us, all of DCL's excursions for this experience were in the afternoon there website is http://www.canopytours-vallarta.com/

I would LOVE to do this if anyone else is game!!!!

I believe someone from our group EB did this last year - I did not go because I can't get myself to zipline. We also did a Pirate Snorkel Adventure in Aruba this way as well. They had a great time on it.

When our family stayed for a week in Puerto Vallarta we did this.:scared1: Lots of fun...I have a bad knee so I just wrapped it and had no problems.

OMG, that zipline looks awesome! My kids get a zipline during camp; this would really blow them away! Sign me up!!

I just watched another DCL youtube video ... so now I'm sitting at work with a tissue and a wet face. Is there a support group I can join?

That was me that started the thread because of our large group. I am very disappointed that we can't do it as we have 5 children under 6.
