From what I understand you can use regular WDW MYW tickets at DL but not WDW annual passes.

Correct..annual passes don't work .. but the MYW should.

Howdy All ~~ I've decided to leap off the lurker benches and activate my account!! My family -- me, DH & DD (14 at sailing), possibly MIL & her friend -- will be sailing in 2 cabins. As you can tell from my signature, this isn't our 1st ::MickeyMo cruise -- yes, we LOVE the ::MickeyMo -- but it is our 1st PC crossing and we are very excited!

Welcome! My DD will be 14 just after the cruise..she will be excited that there is someone else near her age!

Hi and welcome. This will be our 2nd PC crossing, we loved the first one so much, and there are a couple of different ports this time too!!

We are glad to be 'aboard', just wishing we were aboard now! We are excited about Aruba and Costa Rica ports. As others mentioned, PV has a glamorous view of WalMart -- last time we had sunset reservations at Palo's leaving that port.

My husband had lost his little penknife he bought in one of the WalMarts in Orlando, so he took a little walk over to see if he could find one. He said it was very different in there, and actually never found the penknives!!!

Thanks! My DD will be excited to hear there are other girls. I imagine that this cruise will be light on middle & upper school kids. DD will be a high school freshman -- how are you handling the school :teacher:absences? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Well my party of 5 is now booked in two Value Studios at Jambo House for two nights. Now we need to figure out what to do on the one whole day we are there. The day we arrive we are talking about going to DTD and going for dinner at T-Rex. Not sure if there well be any park time. Still 11 months away so plenty of time to figure that out.

We actually did an Eco-Tour of the area, through DCL, that took us out of the PV city and into countryside. It was a memorable adventure, though my DD (then 8) came away with counting to 5 in many languages -- 1 Tequila, 2 Tequila, 3 Tequila...(American); 1 Aye, 2 Aye, 3 Aye...(Canadian) -- not to worry, the kids were given only sodas:eek::rotfl2::thumbsup2

My DD is homeschooled through a private school in our area.. they allow the cruise to count as school days as long as she does activities in port and journal. We also have an education thread for our cruise.. you can find the link on the first page I believe. We expect to be homeschooling next year as well so that is what we shall do. DD will be in 8th grade during the cruise.

There is also a thread for the tweens/teens that you can find on the first page as well.

Welcome! This is only our second cruise. We loved it so much in December we just had to book again. Since DH has always wanted to see the Panama Canal and I didn't want to get off after a week, this was a perfect fit for us.

BTW, we're from the Houston area too!

That is exactly how we've felt since our 1st cruise in 2004, we love our DCL home away from home:cool1: and seeing friends & crew from our previous sailings:love:. It's the only way DH & I can completely unplug from work & our non-family commitments!

:surfweb:HI neighbor...we are I10 West near Memorial City Mall:banana:

Thanks for the information. I will have DD login for the tweens/teens thread, she'll be excited to meet others before the trip.
DD is in private-school now (8th grade) and we are awaiting acceptance letters to several private high schools (to be mailed at Spring Break) -- our favorite one has a great educational travel program & acceptance of outside learning opportunities -- now it's just a wait-n-see until we have to actually worry about it:eek:.

We're in Pearland just off of 288. :goodvibes

Good luck!

Our DD is homeschooled :teacher:. I doubt we'll have her do school work on the cruise. We'll just make sure she's ahead by minimizing time off during Thanksgiving and Christmas and extending school hours by an hour or 2 if need be. Of course, so many excursions can be turned into learning opportunities and we'll definitely take advantage of that.

We will be 'in your neighborhood' at the end of February for Regional FLL (LEGO Robotics) competition. It is a reschedule from the snow day in December. Maybe we can 'meet':grouphug: before the January sail-away?!?

Oh yes, the snow day! I happened to be at WDW at the time and missed it. Anyway, where is the competition at? As it gets closer, I'll have to see what we're up to at the time and maybe we can plan a little meet.

We will be at the Searcy 9th Grade campus of Pearland HS. It's an all-day team event, on Saturday, February 27th, and will probably be chaotic at best. If not then, we can shoot for another day/time!!

In Mexico the currency is the Peso.
I have been to T-Rex a couple of times. Loved it. Planing on going back for sure.

:welcome: I love it when folks come out of lurkdom. Glad to have you joining us.

TGIF!!! Although I may work some on Sunday, I can sleep in and get here whenever. Heading to DS's for dinner tomorrow evening - Mexican night as they are having guacamole (LOVE that stuff) and pork tacos plus the ever popular maragarita's (I gotta take my Rosa Regale, tequila isn't my thing). My other son is coming up from Grand Rapids so I will get to have two of the three in the same room - love that!

Have a great weekend everyone and for anyone in the path of that snow storm - be safe.

Welcome aboard! This is a very nice group to be sailing with.

My cousin lives right off of Gestner (sp?) and is a PE teacher at Spring Branch.

Jeff just called Member services and we snagged a BLT Grand Villa, MK view. So excited!!!! 11 months and counting!

FYI, we're almost to the lock. Once the lock happens, I'll update the cruise website once the new thread is started.

Also, I know I'm way behind on pictures, and I'll be working on that this weekend.
