From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

We did not have our dining rotation on our card either. When I went down to guest services for a printout of it ,I was there over 20 minutes and they could not get it to print. After asking about 3 others how to do it they printed one out for me but when I looked at it the information was all wrong. I just took it and left. This is one example of poor communication. In spite of everything I would do this cruise again in a heartbeat. The Disboard people helped make the cruise great.

Great, if we can get Corinna a set I'll ship them off to her in one package in order to save postage and customs issues for her. My address is
89 Harper St
San Francisco, Ca 94131

So now we have:
mickey
minnie
goofy
stitch

still need
pluto
donald

Does any one have extras of those to donate to the lady who gave her time to do the jewelry making classes?

Val

Val, I need your last name to mail the pins. I want to get them in the mail on Mon. We have been iced in and unable to get to the post office.

Corinna - I haven't heard back from anyone to know if they are ok with sending the pins to me and then me sending them to you. If you PM me your address and instructions on how best to complete the mailing paperwork so you don't get hit with fees, I'll wait a bit and see what others want to do and then send off at least my pins. Sorry you didn't get the opportunity to get them on the ship, another one of those communications issues, but hope we can help you here.
I know the crew really tried their best so I am not angry them for the communication and organizational issues lacking on this cruise. It was my choice to spend about 20 hours, or one day of my vacation, in a line for pins (I had never added up the time before now - what an idiot!!). But Disney is the expert on crowd management so I really think they blew this one. I did mention to one of the officers that was talking with me while in line for the pins, that I hoped in their "lessons learn't" sessions they would note the issues the DISboard brings to their attention. Let's see if they do.

Val, didn't you get my PM? I am sending you Stitch and Goofy...

send your address and I'll ship out pluto. val

I had the same problem. I agree tho... I would do it again anytime! Thanks Disboard friends for making my cruise so wonderful too...

Thanks for your address - Don't know why I didn't get your PM, looked again and it isn't there - Oh well, will put the pin into the mails on Monday. Don't want to rub it in but no ice here, in fact broke the record for the warmest day in history of the city, was in shorts and tee top all day. Our daffodils are ready to bloom. Val

Our Panama post card came today - no postmark.

Slogging my way through editing photos - wish I hadn't taken QUITE so many, lol.
Yup, our PC postcard arrived today without postmark, too. I realized as I went out to the mailbox that we forgot to send one to our neighbors. But then a thought hit me. We have extra postcards and extra stamps, why not just stick one in their mailbox. If they ask about the no postmark thing, I can honestly tell them that Panama doesn't appear to do that. (And they'd never be the wiser.:rolleyes1)

And I've been going through our 7100+ photos, trying to decide which should be shared. I'm hoping to get all that finished in the next week.

Yes, quite a beautiful day today and the sunset tonight was so colorful I had to take a few pics.

When we were on the PC we purchased a little ornamnet of the ship-it had a gold string on it, for our
grandson. Somewhere between the ship, DL and Las Vegas it got lost. I was wondering if anyone was going on the Wonder could get me another..It cost around $13. We had Captain Henry sign it as follows:

To AJ who loves the Disney ships

We would definately pay for it plus the shipping and we would like the captain to sign it again for AJ

If anyone can help us, please let me know. Thanks

I am going on the Wonder in 6 weeks...if the other option doesn't work - I can get it for you. We were given a bridge tour on our last day and were told that Capt. Henry left that day and Capt. Thord (I think) was taking over. Let me know. I obviously can't get the signature (or I can if you don't mind the different Capt.) just let me know!

I was never told about the breakfast....

Sorry you missed it! :( We saw it on our ticket and our server told us.

I am finally feeling human again! Every has been unpacked and put away (the FE and extras always take the longest) I have an awesome hubby who unpakced all the clothes and toiletries and did all of the laundry! I only had the extras once I felt better this week.

I am getting ready for my next cruise in March to the MR with my in-laws who have never cruised! Just busy getting back into home schooling my DD and finally getting my website up and running and back into working. I miss everyone and hope we get to cruise again soon!

I sent one to DS/DDIL that live across town and they got theirs yesterday but not me. Not that this will be a surpise or anything but no postmark. I really wonder where they were mailed from...

Well, isn't it obvious? Mickey did just what Robin suggested...he came to visit everyone personally and shoved it in your mailboxes!:lmao:

Thanks Val... We usually have that kind of weather too... This hit at a bad time as my Dad's wife of over 35 years passes away and her funeral was We. I couldn't even get out of my subdivision much less drive to Arkansas. I am leaving today tho...

Oh, you must put that video up on youtube!

I saw it on the TV when they played it. (Didn't get to the show) If I had known what it was, I would have videoed it too!

I am slowly working through my photos too.

Jill - so sorry to hear about your step-mother. Hope your dad is doing ok and your travels are safe.

All in all, it was the best cruise ever, for me. Slogging my way through my photos and realized -

Regrets - I had a few - but almost too few to mention.

MOST importantly, I regret how few of you I actually met and spent time with - especially given how fond I became of some of you on the boards.

Regret having bought so much internet time - I didn't use all I bought, despite emailing every day and uploading photos.

Regret having a memory like a sieve - so I probably introduced my room mates to some of your several times and often didn't have any memory of the names of the people I DID meet.

Regret not having kept a list of the wonderful FE gifts we received and their givers so I could have said specific thank yous - they were WONDERFUL (and in some cases saved the day! )

Thank you for being WONDERful!
