TinkRyansmom, your gown went to a ball on Saturday night! Rochelle said the decor was black, white and grey and the dress showed spectacularly! She was THRILLED! Thank you! (Someday, I *will* fit into it - but not this year, apparently)

Sorry for everyone's freezing weather. Yesterday it was 85 degrees here and although I enjoy warm weather...making Christmas cookies in that was not a lot of fun!

Packing has not started here but I have 3 boxes in my room with cruise stuff as I find/buy it - it goes in! I had some of my DD summer clothes but had to give them back! :rotfl2:

Is your birthday the 19th? So is mine!!!
Speaking of combined gifts. One year I was sick and in the hospital right before my birthday (I was 12). A "friend" gave me a Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Get Well card. Not a gift, a card......:confused3

3mm - I am feeling your pain. DD10 birthday is Christmas Eve. I usually do her birthday early. And this year..I find myself still without anything planned.

My b-day is the 26th of December. My parents did a pretty good job of separating out christmas and my birthday. During my school years though I always had to have my birthday party in January. There just wasn't a good time in December. One thing I do require is my birthday presents must be wrapped in birthday paper! Just because you have the christmas paper out doesn't mean you can wrap my gifts in it. If my birthday was in June, would you wrap the gifts in christmas paper? Probably not. Otherwise, I'm pretty flexible with my b-day.

Boy, I've been watching the news and reading all your stories about the snow and bad weather. I can only imagine how badly you want to get on this cruise. We are on the other end of the spectrum and having record breaking warm days. We have been in the upper 70's to low 80's. But we are just as eager as you!

I doubled checked the suitcases again yesterday and will probably check 3 or 4 more times before we go. I want to go now!!!

Is it wrong to wish everyone else's cruises away so ours can get here quicker? :rotfl2:
YES!!!! Yes it is! I have too much to still do, like pack, for it to get here quicker. :rotfl:

It's just around the corner and I for one can't wait! Come on Birthday (next Sunday), then Christmas (Combining gifts are NOT allowed...so just remember that for those who have children born in December, we don't like that :lmao:) then New Year's then FINALLY the Cruise!:cool1::banana:
DS's birthday was yesterday. Well one of his birthdays was yesterday. He was born on the December 12, 2004 which was also the 5th day of Hanukkah. So DS has 2 birthdays and he knows it, too. I know he's now 6 years old now, but did he turn 6 yesterday (December 12) or last Monday (the 5th day of Hanukkah)? In any case, we definitely try hard to make DS's birthday a big deal no matter whether it overlaps with Hanukkah or not.

Our drive I had to dig out, it goes a bit around the corner as well!

Last but not least this is how Orly stole his advent calnder, I never thought he could manage it, but we teased him with popcorn to see how he had done it!

Question about state room door:

Is there enough room to slide an envelope under? I just can't remember if there is a seal or not. For Smug Mug money, someone suggested sliding an envelope under the door and before I send out the PMs about the money, I want to make sure that is even an option.

THANKS

Wow Lynn! I bet that is making you even more excited about the cruise!

Thanks! I thought about the fish extender but would hate for someone's money to get stolen. I know it doesn't happen often but have read of things being stolen from doors/FEs. Shame we even have to worry about it.

No, your right, I def wouldnt, I had sun glasses taken, It will go under the door no trouble.

Fantastic photos Lynne. Is that how it is now? Ours has gone, but we are due more this weekend. Orly is a very resourceful dog!!!!:lmao:

Lynne, so sorry about the weather....

Funny beagles you've got there. I've loved all my beagles, but those noses get them in all sorts of trouble!!!

Orly is nothing like princess Ruby!

Just an FYI for those participating... All PMs for Smug Mug have been sent out.

Carmie, thanks for organizing. I just sent the money pay pal.

Lynne those pictures are amazing!!! The poor horses, and our dogs sunbathe just like Ruby. Had to laugh at Orly.

Lynne- it looks like a wonderland. Doggie looks nice and warm and comfy - unlike poor pony.

Overcast and cool - 50ish here. Not as pretty as yours but much easier to get around in.

Got the lighted garland up outside, inside window lights up, teal sheers made and hung and bronze poinsetta garland hung. Only problem is my dining room looks like santa and 6 elves were murdered in there - Stuff everywhere. Of course cat is up on the table sleeping in the middle of everything --- until bob see's him.

Hello all! Just ducking in to assure everyone we're still alive and looking forward to the cruise, just so busy at work that it's hard to find time to think about it, which I'm sure will make it all the better when it arrives. :cool1: Gosh, I didn't think about visas too, NZ passports are visa free with so many countries it didn't occur to me. I guess more boat time for us if visas are needed!

That does unfortunately not work. If you do not have the necessary documentation for every port of call, you are not allowed on the ship. We nearly had that happen to somebody on the WBTA, who did the last Med beforehand. They found out at the 11th hour that one member of the party needed a visa for Tunisia. Fortunately they managed to get this sorted in time as DCL advised them that they would not be allowed to get on the ship without the visa even if they had no intention to get off the ship in Tunis.

You are OK regarding visas though (see next section)

Quick post - home from a LONG day. Spent 10 hours flying with Scouts, then 5 hours at work. Back at work in the wee hours of the morning.

I had an awful thought, tho' - I COMPLETELY forgot about Visa requirements for the various ports !!!

Can any of the Aussie DISers help me on this ? Looking at the various consulate pages, I'm reasonably sure we don't need Visas for anywhere, but hoping someone may be able to confirm this for me ? Could you PM me please ? I'm kicking myself over this one ! (yes, we've got our US Visa Waivers).

Anyway, brace yourself for it, but here is an AWFUL picture of three of us - again taken with my phone, as my SLR battery died on me :( It's DS and DD2 and I at the airfield today - we flew in tiny little Cesnas, but wow, it was exhilerating !

Cheers,
Sally :)

I have access to a very good visa database at work. So I took the liberty to check out the visa requirements for citizens of Australia and New Zealand for our ports of call:

For citizens of Australia and New Zealand

Bahamas

No visa required for stays up to 3 months. Passport needs to be valid on arrival

Aruba

No visa required for stays of up to 30 days. Passport needs to be valid until the end of the intended stay

Costa Rica

No visa required for stays up to 90 days. Passport needs to be valid on arrival

Mexico

No visa required for stays up to 180 days. Passport needs to be valid on arrival

If anybody else needs visa information for their nationality, just give me a holler and I will check it out for you.

It's not even snowing here yet, and I agree with you about the weather - am done being freezing! We got less than an inch on Friday and while going about 5 miles to a luncheon i saw 3 major accidents and one car go off the road! guess the wet underneath was icy, but i had no problems!! I could NOT live where you get that much snowfall in a year, so i feel badly for you that you have had so much snow and have so long to go!!

btw, I got a great suitcase at Marshalls! So good that someone took it on my last trip to disney! it was just a mixup and we fixed it before leaving the airport (thank goodness i had my name and cell number on my luggage tag!!). I have also seen some travel things on msnbc.com that recommended the brand.

Deluge here and thank goodness it's not snow!!

we've had this laundry room discussion before!! I'm curious if on a longer cruise people spread laundry time out more so maybe it'll be a bit less of an issue? i plan on DD helping and on using it really really late at night. like midnight or so, cause not fair to DD to do it all!! :-) Anyone had a two week cruise experience of laundry, I forget? I know on the one week and shorter people said it was hard to get the machines.

no pesos here - i'm ok with a lesser buy, i am not a shopper!!

Lets see, I think today we can pretend we're...at sea i think! feel the warm sun and the breeze from the ship moving, while we enjoy the pool and other events, oh today should be the wine meet and greet, right??

:goodvibes

sherri

Funny enough, the only time I had problem getting machines was during the Med cruise. During the WBTA, I always got machines straight away when I decided to do laundry. We were on deck 6.

Whew all caught up.

Started my official pre-packing packing ritual. That means I have a pile of stuff in my bedroom. going to get the luggage out and start putting clothes in. ten to make a final list of things that need to be bought or found.

WOOT! Getting excited!

Need to get postcards for exchange and work on door signs!

Corinna! I will send payment right away!

Got the payment and will respond to your PM shortly.

Our drive I had to dig out, it goes a bit around the corner as well!

Wow, that looks impressive. I love snow, but then I grew up in a country that copes remarkably well with snow.

I ordered the supplies for the jewellery workshops today. Quite a few of them have already been shipped so I am hoping that they will get here tomorrow. Then I can spend my days off starting to put together the kits.

I am listening to one of the Disney internet radio stations to get in the mood for the cruise. I have so much to take care of between now and then that it is hard to believe that I will be on the Wonder soon.

THANKS

The Personal Navigators slide under the door so I would think an envelope would as well as long as it isn't too thick.
