I'd love an iPhone soon, but I'm hoping Santa (aka DH) will get me an iPad for Christmas. It would really come in handy on the PC cruise.

We got an iPad for this very reason! My hubby reads books like there no tomorrow and there is no way we could bring all the books he wanted. With 15 nights, he'll probably go through 7 or 8 books. We decided that an iPad was the way to go and it's been awesome! He reads books on it all the time and it will definitely save space in our suitcase. We've also gotten a lot of use out besides just the reader. We use it for games, internet (when there's wifi, we didn't get the 3G one), e-mail, movies, and lots more. It's probably one of the best purchases we've made in terms of price vs usage.

I'm looking at the wifi one as well. I don't see any reason to get the 3G especially since I'd like to get the iPhone down the road in a few months. I'm planning on using it mostly for games, internet, a few movies and sadly school work since I'm in school right now and school doesn't go on vacation just b/c I do.

I finally went to the post office and got our lanyards!!!
Super cool!! Thanks for taking that project on!! My DD3 had to put hers on immediately and would not take it off. So cute.

Question - who here booked a rental car out of Long Beach through Hertz in Lomita??

I just talked to them and was told they don't pick up unless they have "an available driver", there is no shuttle and they don't deliver cars.

They recommend taking a taxi the 6 miles and picking up the car.

Um...????

Ok checking with Enterprise right now - they will pick up - they are right across the highway - but to the black hole that is Fresno I would be charged $150 one way rental fees.

Just returned from doing grocery shopping. Before coupon total - $235.00. After coupons - $152.00 $83.00 savings for just one week!!!!

Ooh, you are right, it is great Chili (or some other soup) weather. I may have to make Chicken and Dumplings! I'll be hitting the store sometime this week too. I don't even want to get near a grocery store next week!

One thing I forgot to mention above, still need to get DD her formal dresses. She is 11 and almost 5'3" and doesn't fit in "kid" dresses. I've looked at junior dresses and found a cute one for semi-formal but not finding much for formal. So many are too revealing. I really hate to spend the money for custom dresses that she will wear one time. Any suggestions???

Carmie...if you find a good online store for tweens dresses, please share. I have a 13yo who is 5'7" with matching feet. It's hard to get any outfit for her that is NICE. What to do for dress shoes!!!???

Hey! I am from Cowgary.

I have not posted for awhile. We won our playoff game Saturday & now we travel to Charleston,WV to play the #1 ranked team in the state. I am going on the charter bus which leaves at 7 am!!

My dd house closing got delayed by her buyer so instead of moving yesterday she is moving tomorrow. Also, she got her biopsy report back & it is suspect so now she must have breast surgery. She is waiting for an appointment with the surgeon. I am very concerned for her & will be happy when I get down there.

May your DD have a similar experience to my Mum. She was lumpectomied and irradiated so quickly and thus far, efficiently, that she sometimes forgets she had breast cancer...sending piles of pixie dust!!!!
