Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

As well organized as I try to be, I can't find my Banana Bus List anywhere, so if you signed up for it, will you please pm me with banana bus in the subject line.

It's Veteran's day! BIG Thanks to all who served and all their spouses who faithfully waited. My dh will be glued to the military channel all day. Our neighbor is the grand marshall of the parade in Albany.

Happy Day, all!

I'm with Linda Babe- Thanks to all who served so we can enjoy the Freedoms we have today! DH is still in Taiwan but is due to arrive home Saturday. (no telling what shape he'll be in though because of the flights he leaves Taiwan Saturday morning and will arrive home Saturday evening (with lots of hours lost in between.)

OMG

DH was traveling up to Portland today so I took the kids out for dinner. In the restaurant I realized I had a voicemail. Turned out it was from DH. His plane had hit a hawk and they had to abort the take off. :scared1:

I have just checked and thankfully, after taking off late, their plane landed OK.:thumbsup2

So thankful all is well.

I have been wanting to try this for my shoulder as well. Let me know how it works for you. What was wrong with your shoulder?

A pinched nerve in the area of my shoulder blade. I actually have much more relief today, but don't want to brag yet.

I am taking my grandson Nathan's girlfriend shopping today. That is the couple I sent you homecoming pictures of. She wants to go to the outlets and we have such a good time together so I know we will enjoy our day. I think Nathan may be a little jealous, but he has football practice, so I will take him another day!:lovestruc Anything for my kids.

My dd had a breast biopsy yesterday and I have been on pins and needles in two different ways. She called at noon yesterday to say she was sore but everything appeared okay. Now to wait for the official okay!

Have a wonderful day. It is very foggy here right now, but suppose to be in the 60's. I could take this weather until spring. Maybe I will, in South Carolina!:lmao:

Kay, sorry but i missed this post somehow. I missed a few and can't understand it!!!:confused3

Anyway that was pretty scary. Glad he landed safely.

Hi Everyone,
You guys may have already discussed this, if so I've missed it......are any of you renting a car at the port in LA? I hope to, we are staying at the Disneyland resort but plan to do some sightseeing too. So far i haven't figured out what's available if anything at the port. I don't want to pay for the super shuttle for 4 to the Disney resort then rent a car from there. Thanks for any guidance.

We are renting a car too. Our Delta flight just got cancelled on Saturday, so now we are thinking of taking the red-eye back to Orlando. We found a great rate with Hertz (my Mom gets an IBM discount).

Is anyone getting a limo to the port that they want to share from Disney World or MCO? We have 3 people in our party.

Since our flight got cancelled, we are thinking of getting a non-stop to Orlando instead of Tampa so we may leave a car around Disney.

I see that there is a Hummer Limo for 19 people for $444. That would make it cheaper than going with Disney.

Have a great time! I love outlet shopping.

Wow, so glad everything appears okay! How scary that must be for her

On this Veteran's Day, if any of you would like to remember our troops by sending a Holiday package here is one of many opportunities:

Hi Valerie!

Thanks so much for returning! We got such a good response that Andrew has asked me to forward future mail to his nearby fellow troops.

I am particularly trying to get enough Christmas stockings for them all. Take a look at my blog link below for more info.
Of course, if you just want to send a package that is fine.
For Christmas arrivals we need items shipped within the next week to be sure. So I'm hoping for a few more for Andrew and the troops.

Let me know if you think you can do a few. And may I suggest that you visit my website too. If you submit your email address there you will get alerts (about monthly) of new projects and soldiers.

Here's where you can send your packages. If you decide to do the stockings, just tell me how many as I'm keeping track of how many go to each unit.

The guys in this unit need everything! They are in a very remote location. For Christmas the stockings should have lots of fun stuff though, like chocolate, candy canes (small ones don't break as much), cookies, gum, sport magazines, little cans of energy drinks, but also a new toothbrush, small shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant is good. And maybe a photo of your group or family to make it very personal. More suggestions and tips are on my blog.

No home made items (cookies, brownies, etc) can be accepted. No hand sanitizer is allow through the mail.

Be sure to send everything PRIORITY MAIL after November 1st, if they are to receive it by the week before Christmas. FLAT RATE boxes are usually the best price. There is additional information on my blog.

On the Customs Declaration form, under "in case of non-delivery" put Andrew May, same address.
Andrew sent me this soldier and a request for him and his troops.

Here are some ideas of what to write on a note in the Christmas stockings:

Hello and Merry Christmas from _____________________
We received your unit through Andrew May and "Aunt Nancy"
www.auntnancyusa.com
We hope this gift puts a smile on your face a adds a little sunshine/cheer to your holiday... or, Sending this in case Santa can't get fly over clearance....
We are thinking of you and the sacrifices you are making for our country.
A reply is not necessary, but we would like to know this package was received,
and you can let us know of any special requests we might be able to help you with.

Your name,
Group name
address
and email (if you want them to email -- which is more likely than a returned note)

On the Customs Declaration form you will have to list contents. Don't be too accurate.
Example:
Rather than "Snicker bars, Christmas stockings, gum"
I would list:
"sugar bars, red socks, gum"
Thieves won't be as enticed!

I would appreciate help spreading the word about my fundraiser (below) also.

Christmas packages to this Afghanistan unit need to be mailed ASAP as it can take up to 6 weeks for them to receive boxes, even Priority Mail.

THANKS AGAIN!!!

On this Veteran's Day my oldest DS is deploying. I'm not allowed to say from where or to where until they have arrived. I was going to take my grandchildren to see him off but that is not going to work this time. Continued thoughts and prayers for our troops is always appreciated.

Lands End is having another big sale and still have rash guards on clearance. In addition to the clearance price today you take an additional 30% off your entire purchase and free shipping if over $50. Val

My thoughts are with your family. Friends of ours were suppose to go on this cruise with us, but they were to deploy to the Middle East. I'm happy to say that they are no longer going because she needs wrist surgery and he is finally getting stationed to be with her (Joint spouse took awhile to get through).

I joined the military to give back to this great country I (and many of us here) live in. It was my way of saying thanks to a country that allowed me to be here. My Dad was born in a work camp during WWII. My Dad's family tried to leave Poland and were picked up by Axis troops. They were escorted to this work camp while my grandmother was very pregnant with my Dad. My Dad's orginal birth certificate is in Italian. Thankfully two months after he was born, that work camp was liberated by American GIs. British troops took my family under their wings and helped them get passage to England. My Dad spent the first 9 years of his life in Surrey England before my Grandfather fulfilled his life long dream to live in America. He beamed with pride talking about the freedom he had here.
Today we honor those who willingly (and sometimes not so willingly) give of themselves for our freedom. Freedom is never, ever, ever free.

A big thanks to those who served our country. With out you I couldnt go and freeze my rear end off today. So thank you. I wished I worked today. We are asking all persons with military ID and their families to board early and get a free drink. I really like it when we do things like that. I know it is not much but it still makes me happy that as a company we did something.

 Lots of good thoughts and prayers for you and all military families today and everyday!

Harole Ann, I hope the final results are as good as the prelimnary for DD!

Valbob, thanks for announcing this. As i'd mentioned before we do this at work. We send so many people, civilians and military and contractors, over to many of the "active" sites now that often we send boxes with them. I want to reiterate to all of you that no matter what you send, it's appreciated, i want to second what she said - they do appreciate it. Both the actual item and the knowlege that those at home care. Our guys go to BIG bases and then off to remote areas, and the need and wants are great. Support the war/dont support the war. I dont care. Support our brave men and women who are over there helping protect our freedoms.

Thank you to all present and past military members!

Well, today I tried acupuncture for the first time. I will have to say that I think it has helped the pain in my shoulder blade. I came home and put ice on it and fell asleep. I go back Friday for another treatment and Wednesday for a half hour massage.

I have to get on a time schedule for sure now as my son Greg's air fare is booked for his return flight from Charleston, SC. He is driving me to my dd on December 5 so there is no time to play around. All of my Christmas shopping is done and wrapped for this end and most things that I am taking with me are tightly packed. I can wrap them after I get there. My house looks like a tornado went through. Somehow all my clothes have to fit in a suitcase and Jasmine has to keep her cool!:confused3 Neither will be an easy task.

Happy Anniversay to everyone who has celebrated this week. Our dear friends who we always cruised with had their 35th anniversary yesterday.

Garry's birthday is Monday and our 49th anniversay would have been December 10 so this is not an easy time of year for me. I am happy to be celebrating with my dd and her family. It is a great help.

What teriffic talent! I so admire when someone can do something like this!

Happy to hear you are feeling better and glad family is around to give you real hugs and not virtual ones!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Sadly, no Fox. Pretty much your only options are Disney owned stations: Disney Channel, ABC, ABC Family, ESPN, etc. along with several movie and tv (rerun) channels.

May want to set up the DVR.
